According to a report from the Daily Beast's Kelly Weill, the Libertarian Party is experiencing a wave of turmoil as state party officials leave and some chapters collapse due to a turn to the far-right which some members believe now provides a helping hand to the Republican Party.
Central to the descent into chaos is the growth of the Mises Caucus which has taken control of several state committees and pushed far-right policies more in line with Donald Trump than traditional Libertrain sympathies.
...
The caucus has come out in support of 'national divorce,' the notion of breaking the U.S. into multiple smaller nations. The theory is controversial among libertarians, as are recent tweets from Mises-led state Libertarian parties," the report states. "The MC-led Libertarian Party of New Hampshire, for instance, has repeatedly called for repealing the Civil Rights Act, and tweeted '6 million dollar minimum wage or you’re antisemitic,' in reference to the Holocaust.

Libertarian party taken over by crazies? Say it ain't so! 😂

So basically, Conservolibertarian Party goes full conservolibertarian, forcing conservolibertarians who are not conservolibertarian enough to flee.

I bet that made Vermin Supreme leave because he was way too moderate.

Wasn't Vermin Supreme a Democrat?

Also, am I too obsessed with politics to know who Vermin Supreme is without a web search?

I am confused. How does one distinguish this crazy from the normal Libertarian Party crazy?
+1
It’s not as if the Party of Stoopid suddenly became something else. Changing shades of stoopidity doesn’t alter its basic contrarian nature, does it?

The original Libertarian crazy was founded in self-centeredness and naïve / child-like understanding of how the world works. The new Libertarian crazy is more founded in fascism and hatred of liberal ideology.

Yes, let's break up the U.S. into numerous nations. And repeal civil rights. Etc. The Libertarian Silly party has suffered a hostile take over by Demented Libertarians will soon disappear as a party active in 50 states. This is all reminescent of Socialist parties of old the were always splitting, various Socialist parties disappearing, short lived Socialsts forming and all battling organized take overs by the Communist Party USA.

This will be a freak side show for years to come. Will the new Mises Caucus dominated Libertarians be able to have a Libertarian presidential candidate in 2024? What could be their official party platform? Will the new Libertarian party swell its ranks by flushing the kooks out from under their rocks to join up?

This promises to be entertaing for quite some time. The Libertarian Party! Now with 25% more batshit crazy!

I think you're splitting Herrs.

That was before he became a Libertarian. See, back then, he ran for President under both real parties but with fake campaigns. Before 2020, he switched to Libertarian. Then, he ran a real campaign with a fake political party. Some people don't get the nuance.

Hmmm, learned something new. I also thought he had retired.

The mask of reasonable individualism has finally slipped off.

Yeah, uh-huh, right. Sure. Whatever.

You know, this is a perfect opportunity for you to show off how much you know about the Libertarian Party and the libertarian movement by describing how the Mises caucus is different from other factions. Please elucidate.

They say the quiet part out loud. Not cool Mises.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to provide a link or two that rebuts the quoted report in the OP or elucidates the differences between the factions or provides more context instead of some passive-aggressive jibe.

The Mises Caucus that has taken over the National Libertarian Party wants to disolve the United States Of America into a bunch of independent nations. This is beyond batshit crazy. I am sure that this will make the New Libertarian Party under new management very popular in future elections, local and national.

This new Libartarian Party is even crazier than the LaRouchites were back in the day Lyndon LaRouche ran for president while in federal prison.

PlatformEdit

The Mises Caucus claims in their platform that they

Yes, no more nation, no states. Anarchy.

"Every man a king. Every woman a queen. Every child and pet a serf."
- Church of the SubGenius

No more dollars, pesos, or loonies. Barter and live chickens as currency. The sovereign kingdom of Bubba and Karen Gump. All 1 1/2 acres of it. The more you look into all of this and think about, the funnier it gets. This either the most brain damaged political movement since the "Queen of Canada, Romana Dilulo" or the greatest political prank since Q.

Nobody on the left thinks anyone ought be deprived of individualism, only of the myth of absolute independence.

Humans are interdependent as a species and this has only become more true over the years.

This myth that any human can be ruggedly independent of the other people just needs to fucking die.

We can be individuals without seeking to divorce ourselves from our responsibility to one another.

In some respects I don't think it's crazy to do a national divorce.

The deeper issue is that southern states would promptly promptly reorganize into a third world shithole the likes of which may never be able to dig itself back out of the failed state that would produce.

We would end up with Y'all-qaida to our southeast, and then a wall really would need to be built on parts of what would become America's new southern border.
