These people have exactly one political priority, and it warms the cockles of my shriveled heart to see it demonstrated yet again:

This is the 3rd largest political party in the US, a very normal country

Come on, PyramidHead, it's not like that is the only Libertarian candidate running for President. There's also this guy:

And then there's Adam Kokesh who used to be a radio talk show host for Russian TV propaganda.

But there's also John McAfee, the founder and CEO of McAfee software and virus protection. He's got cred, right? Err, he was born in the UK: not a US citizen. He is also wanted for murder or maybe just a person of interest who fled Belize. He probably played games hunting humans on his private island.

Finally, there's this guy:

So as you can see there are a number of rational choices if you are a Libertarian.

The Libertarian Party is better off as a faction within one of the two main parties - or both of them. Otherwise, it will be a spoiler. That's Duverger's Law. In fact, there is a joke that says that Libertarians are Republicans who like to smoke pot.

To get an idea of how it might work, consider  Brand New Congress. It was founded in 2016 by some Bernie Sanders campaigners, and it was to operate much like a European political party. But it would operate within both existing political parties, with its candidates mainly running as Democrats or Republicans, depending on which party was the stronger one locally. It originally aimed at recruiting some 400 candidates for the 2008 Congressional races, but it ended up recruiting only about 30. One of them ran as a Republican and one as an Independent, with the rest all running as Democrats. Of these, 10 won in the primaries, all Democrats, and one of them won in the general election - another former Bernie Sanders campaigner, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Libertarian reddit tries to correct the record, hilarity ensues:

Very disappointed
