So then would you mind re-reading the whole thing but instead using anal penetration instead of kicking in the balls? Sometimes anal penetration is consensual.

But just so you know, the analogy works for us because regardless of how much some of us like sex as consenting adults, being a piece of meat in society from a young age is something we DO NOT WANT any more than you would want to be kicked in the balls as a matter of routine. The analogy works in that it should elicit some kind of strong sympathetic reaction from men who read it and then they can get an idea of the strong sympathetic reaction women experience when reading about and living the reality version.

It's not that the author has a problem empathizing with women. It's that men in general have a problem empathizing with women, and that's because, one, they don't have to, and two, this society built by men for the pleasure and privilege of men doesn't encourage men to empathize with women. And since it's mainly women who even bring it up to you, you can easily dismiss them with comfort and support in the form of silence of the men around you.

So in spite of the mountain of instances of rape and abuse and discrimination and dismissal and degradation of women in the world around you, you personally don't have to care about it because not only is it not likely to affect you, but your sense of empathy toward women is weak and wouldn't inspire you to even ask yourself if you should.

Here is a trivial example - men are legally permitted to go topless at beaches in the US, while at most beaches, women are not.

Yes, I read your post. Are you familiar with Sexual Selection theory?

You mean the "Well, you let us beat you, so it's your fault" argument? Yes.

Are you familiar with human intelligence, the part where we are conscious of our own choices and behaviors, and that when we learn something new, it changes our perspective and understanding a little bit?

Because if you're suggesting that you are just a dumb monkey who cannot make conscious choices to change his own behavior, then this thread is not for you. It is for the rest of our society, where information spreads and morphs and we learn new things about ourselves every day, and changes often occur on a very broad scale.

In other words, we are not total slaves to biology or animal brain, and if it's true that we select for assholes, once we are aware of that, we can start to change it, little by little, generation after generation, in the choices we make based on new and growing knowledge.

There, now you learned something new about yourself as a human being.

Men were legally obligated to fight in wars throughout history, while no nation-state in history has pressed service onto women that didn't also press service onto men?

Also-- you realise in most Western countries, men did not routinely go topless, even at the beach, until well into the 20th century.

I don't believe society has been structured to benefit and privilege only men at the expense of women. I absolutely believe that men and women were forced into different roles, but these roles were not predicated on making women suffer.
