microscopes and microbes

When I was a young kid my parents got me a microscope with a lot of slides. I have recently gotten an interest again as an adult. What microscope would you recommend I buy? Also, do you know any good books I could read that would tell me more detail about some of the microbes I might see on slides? I like to have a little bit more detail about them if there is any to know.

Got a telescope and have spent years looking at the moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn. It can get Neptune and Uranus and a few asteroids too like Vesta too. Now I want to look at things closer to home.

Try Edmond Scientific. Haven't looked at pt in a very long time. I expect there should be low cost video microscopes that use USB.
