Yow! This Moscow Mitch meme is really catching on. In the latest, at a speaking event with McConnell, a crowd lustily chanting "Moscow Mitch!" drowned him out. This looks like it is not going to be one of these things that fades away after a few days. Moscow Mitch is going to be tormented with this all the way to election day.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) continued to be dogged by the nickname “Moscow Mitch” at a speaking appearance in Kentucky on Saturday, as protestors chanted the name and overwhelmed him.
In a video posted to Twitter, the embattled Republican can be heard attempting to address the crowd loudly chants “Moscow Mitch” in reference to his decision to shut down two Senate bills aimed at slowing down Russioan meddling in U.S. elections.
...

---

What I would like to see is Democratic Senators creating a steady stream of bills dealing with election security, voter caging and suppression etc, and daring Moscow Mitch to prevent these bills from coming to a vote. Make Moscow Mitch double down or give up. Stay tuned for more. Obviously this isn't going away.

I think the death tremors are setting in already.

Amy McGrath, a retired Marine lieutenant colonel and combat pilot who is seeking to unseat Senator Mitch McConnell in 2020, raised $2.5 million in the first 24 hours of her campaign, her campaign manager said

It is always so much jolly fun to see a wretched politician get relentlessly and effectively mocked for his or her stupid policies or actions.

It is obvious Moscow Mitch hates that moniker, and it delights his detractors that it does bother his sorry ass. This all has very good entertainment value if nothing else.

And the Moscow Mitch T-shirts are popping up like mushrooms.

I'm not one to favor conspiracies, but can you explain why comrade Mitch is against election security?

Moscow Mitch, Putin's bitch, repeatedly blocked bills to secure our nation's voting systems even as we are being warned by the FBI that Russia has been attacking our election systems.

Did these other people do something like block necessary bills?

Poor little Moscow Mitch. He earned his new nick name and it is sticking big time on his sorry little ass. He hates it and that is just so entertaining. As more bills are created by various senators to strengthen protection of our election systems, Mitch will find it harder now to block them.

This is going to be very entertaining to watch as it all plays out in the future. He will stamp his feet and be very, very angry. It is going to be a rough slog for Moscow Mitch to election day, 2020. Name calling other people like you suggest isn't going to help lil Moscow Mitch. Moscow Mitch is going to be mercilessly razzed over his obstructionism. And there isn't anything he can do about it.

Meanwhile, back at Real Clear Politics, Moscow Mitch, Putin's Useful Fool, has a favorability rating of only 23.8% and an unfavorability rating of 47.8%. People are razzing Moscow Mitch, not to drag his favorability down, it is already down, but because he has made himself so unfavorable by his antics. And by a rather devastating gap of 24%. It is going to be a rough road to November 6, 2020 for Moscow Mitch. And is there nothing more entertaining than seeing a bully and jerk with a thin skin get righteously heckled by Kentuckians, sick and tired of his obstructionism?

This is so entertaining!

I wasn't defending McConnell, just playing the geographic alliteration game.
By the way, if Egypt ever suffers a socialist revolution we can have Alexandria2!

I believe his official position is that elections are the business of each state and not a federal matter.

Moscow Mitch has also in the past stated he believed passing these election security laws would give the Democrats an unfair advantage.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blocked two election security measures on Thursday, arguing Democrats are trying to give themselves a "political benefit."
The move comes a day after former special counsel Robert Mueller warned about election meddling in 2020, saying Russia was laying the groundwork to interfere in the 2020 election "as we sit here."
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) had tried to get consent Thursday to pass a House bill that requires the use of paper ballots and includes funding for the Election Assistance Commission. It passed the House 225-184 with one Republican voting for it.

But McConnell objected, saying Schumer was trying to pass “partisan legislation.”
....

Stupid and delusional.

Yes, and attempts made by foreign powers to influence, subvert, or sabotage the workings of the US government are the business of the Federal government.

So basically he's saying attempts to limit Russian interference in our elections make it less likely Republicans will be elected.

Moscow Mitch, indeed.

He’s so upset over the nickname, he fell down and broke his shoulder. His shell had to be temporarily removed in order to repair the fracture.

Lindsey Graham should let Mitch borrow his swooning couch until Uncle Vlad gets everything back under control.

I remember a bit from "I Love Lucy" long ago, a bit that seems to me to show how Mitch McConnell thinks of himself in connection with the Democrats.

In it, Ricky (Desi Arnaz) holds out his arm and keeps Lucy (Lucille Ball) away from him. She tries to get back at him, but her arms flail impotently.

So I think that MM thinks of himself as Ricky and thinks of the Democrats as Lucy.

It just shows how fragile the bones of 77 year olds can be.

Bones of a 77 year old need not be fragile but MM's apparently are very fragile. Good thing he has public funded health care that pays for anything he does to himself.

Ive always thought poorly of "The Turtle" and would like nothing better for him as well as most others in congress to be changed out on a regular basis.

That being said, the Russia hysteria has been and continues to be utter horseshit advertised by the military industrial complex. The same complex who only concern themselves with profits and could care less about nuking the world. The next time there is a false reading on Russia's radar and just a matter of time they will respond because of the position they are in now thanks to the neocons.

Instead of warning us of global climate change (which is also real) the moron liberals should be more concerned about harming relations with Russia. Because in the short run they are going to be dead faster with the latter then the former.

allow me to translate out of native Derc into English..

"I have no argument against the nickname so I will call it a game and try to water down the meaning by throwing random geographic alliterations out there, as if it is about the rhyme and not the reference... poetic names on both sides, fun to say, stop looking at the meaning."

Hope that clears it up for ya'll.
