She lost to Dennis Hoff who was a brothel owner (a pimp) that had died a month before the election. Losing an election to a dead pimp has gotta be humbling.

That's not entirely true. A lot of Rs voted for Ds, in 2016 and more in the mid-terms, and many of them publicly announced it. That's how rotten the GOP has become - it's narrowing its base down to the most looney of lunatics with those who are a bit less stupid and crazy deciding to do the right thing instead of continuing to support blatant corruption simply because it's their team.

And Hof's district is deep red. The humiliation is simply having to live among so many oblivious turds.

Voters possibly knew they would be getting another Republican if they voted for the dead guy; the county commissioners pick a new candidate from within the ranks of the GOP in this case. So they were voting for an unknown Republican over a known Democrat, if they were aware of the issue at all.

By the way, calling Dennis Hof a pimp is a bit like calling Donald Trump a real estate agent. Like, technically true, but also missing the thread of his actual claim to fame. Similarly, the article says he was found by "a porn star". This was actually Ron motherf---ing Jeremy. Nevadans knew both characters pretty well, mostly from TV and also because Hof owned quite a lot of real estate, brothelish and otherwise, in and around the City of Sin and the state capital.

Why? Ok, I guess losing to a dead guy is embarrassing, but what's wrong with his profession? He owned a legal establishment employers of which were not only there voluntarily but made quite a bit of money.

What is embarrassing is that the R candidate was the more liberal. At least according to original definition of "liberal".
