Go figure. Republicans are beginning to realize that Mr. Trump's is self-sabotaging with his daily covid statements:

President Donald Trump’s erratic handling of the coronavirus outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Trump does not put the nation on a radically improved course.

The scale of the GOP’s challenge has crystallized in the past week. With 26 million Americans now having filed for unemployment benefits, Trump’s standing in states that he carried in 2016 looks increasingly wobbly: New surveys show him trailing significantly in battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, and he is even narrowly behind in must-win Florida.

Aaawww, that a real shame that they are surprised by this.
You lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

Naw. Trump is the ur-Republican; he upholds and embodies what the party has been about since its founding: family values? Check. Fanatical defense of the Constitution? Naturally. Courtly civility in public discourse? Couldn't do without it. Careful stewardship of public funds? Look at his budget.
No, if he can suppress the black vote, he can lead and inspire us for another four years. (And we're only a pesky Constitutional amendment away from making that twelve. If God wills -- and he does.)
Oh Christ -- shouldn't have eaten that third burrito -- later, friends----
