ATLANTA, GA -- The National Weather Service has released a report warning that the potential for articles citing the potential for catastrophic weather for the Summer of 2019 will be at "levels never seen before".
The report indicated that articles title, typically online, will indicate the potential for the gravest threats to life ever. The NWS noted articles will generally include "hyperbolic statements", "exaggerated numbers" of people who'll be effected by such weather, and a "never ending barrage" of articles treating each passing storm as the top severe weather system in the history of history.
The NWS has urged caution regarding taking these articles seriously. "While the threat of severe weather this time of year is possible, or even inevitable in some locations, urgency for prepartion for such weather should be based on weather bulletins provided by the NWS.
"It is important to realize that most articles regarding weather on the Internet are driven by a near reckless desire for clicks, not by reporting level headed forecasts."
The report concluded by noting that this warning was in place until further notice because there appears to be "no end in sight" to "over-the-top" reports on severe weather.
