NY Gov Andrew Cuomo scandals

That isn't what Ziprhead said, now is it?
Trump killed a lot of grandmas with his "Covid19 is no big deal. Masks are for sissies. It's all a Democratic hoax. I'll have the country back open by Easter!".
Tom

Remember when he sent the navy ship to NY for help and the gov didn’t use it. Or when the media criticized him for saying there’d be a vaccine before the end if 2020? And was Operation Warp Speed a success or not?

Remember how they messed up and the ship was carrying Covid?

Also,
Do you remember the media criticizing Trump for saying that there'd be a vaccine by the end of the year? I don't.

Comparing such a claim to "I'll have the country open and back to normal in a month" perhaps. Trump made a ton of claims that weren't true but got his base going. But comparing his claims to the lies he's told isn't criticizing the claim itself. Remember when Trump was going to build a 2000 mile Wall, and Mexico was going to pay for it?
I do.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "After two accounts of sexual assault, four accounts of harassment, the Attorney General’s investigation finding the Governor’s admin hid nursing home data from the legislature & public, we agree with the 55+ members of the New York State legislature that the Governor must resign. Joint Statement from Reps. Ocasio-Cortez, Bowman on New York State Leadership

WASHINGTON - On Friday morning, Reps. Jamaal Bowman and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released the following statement calling for Governor Cuomo's resignation.

"This week, the second sexual assault allegation and the sixth harassment allegation was leveled against Governor Cuomo. The fact that this latest report was so recent is alarming, and it raises concerns about the present safety and well-being of the administration's staff. These allegations have all been consistent and highly-detailed, and there are also credible media reports substantiating their accounts.

"Unfortunately, the Governor is not only facing the accusation that he engaged in a pattern of sexual harassment and assault. There is also the extensive report from the Attorney General that found the Cuomo administration hid data on COVID-19 nursing home deaths from both the public and the state legislature.

"As members of the New York delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives, we believe these women, we believe the reporting, we believe the Attorney General, and we believe the fifty-five members of the New York State legislature, including the State Senate Majority Leader, who have concluded that Governor Cuomo can no longer effectively lead in the face of so many challenges."

Gov. Cuomo Rejects Calls to Resigns, Says He Won't Bow to 'Cancel Culture' - The New York Times

Calls to resign have come from Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and 16 out of NY's 19 Democratic Reps: Jerrold Nadler 10, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 14, Carolyn Maloney 12, Jamaal Bowman 16, Yvette Clarke 9, Antonio Delgado 19, Adriano Espaillat 13, Brian Higgins 26, Mondaire Jones 17, Sean Patrick Maloney 18, Grace Meng 6, Joe Morelle 25, Paul Tonko 20, Ritchie Torres 15, Nydia M. Velázquez 7, and Kathleen Rice 4 -- nearly every Democrat in New York's Congressional delegation.

The remaining three are Hakeem Jeffries 8, Gregory Meeks 5, Tom Suozzi 3
Around the same time, Representative Hakeem Jeffries, the New York City Democrat who serves as the House Democratic caucus chair, issued a statement that stopped just short of calling on Mr. Cuomo to resign.

“Under these extraordinary circumstances, the governor must seriously consider whether he can continue to effectively lead the state,” he said. “No one is above the law.”

Representative Gregory Meeks issued a similar statement, saying Mr. Cuomo should step down only if the scandals were distracting from the state’s coronavirus response.

The rest of NY's 27-member House delegation is 8 Republicans: Lee Zeldin 1, Andrew Garbarino 2, Nicole Malliotakis 11 Elise Stefanik 21, Claudia Tenney 22, Tom Reed 23, John Katko 24, Chris Jacobs 27.

There are two kinds of politicians. Ones who get caught at corruption and scandal', and those who get away with it.

You think we'd all know that by now.

He is a misogynism of his generation.

It is interesting to watch the Trump supporting posters frantically changing the subject and avoid answering the substantive posts and questions.

Main points being missed:
  1. Democrats will speak up when someone does wrong, whether it’s a Dem or a Repub. AS is honorable.
  2. Republican supported and still support a republican doing lots and lots of things wrong while trying to screech about the Dem.

It’s interesting that republican/conservatives on this thread will not discuss EITHER the fact that Dems will publicly condemn wrong doing despite the party (the moral reaction), or that Republicans are both immoral (won’t condemn own) and hypocritical (will condemn outgroup for same thing). But instead toss out a quick whataboutism to change the subject to something less embarrassing.

Interesting. Not novel or unexpected at all. But interesting.

Can you mention the dems who spoke up when Cuomo was sending Covid patients to nursing homes? It was not until recently that dems began to care about that; ya know, only after Trump left office.

There is the obvious irony of republicans going after Cuomo for sexual issues ingnoring Trump's serial adulteries.

But they’re not. It’s dems that are focused on sex. Conservatives speak of the deaths caused by his mismanagement while the media praised him.

This is why I take the position I do: I expect the republicans who are currently screeching over Cuomo to take the initiative and deal with that backlog of complaints against all the republicans that have piled up in the interim before we queue in Cuomo for his allotted tarring and feathering.

Then, it's the same-old thing... I mean even when the kingpin of pedophilia was being discussed, people had words for Clinton but marry a peep out of them about Trump. The dialogue on the left was "try them all", but the dialogue on the right was "Clinton, Clinton, Clinton".

I am perfectly happy waiting to deal with Cuomo until after the dust has settled with regards to Trump's SDNY tax evasion trial.

You are a funny guy.

Well, can you name a prominent rep who’s called for Cuomo to resign for the sex allegations?

Schumer joins congressional Democrats' call for Cuomo to resign

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Friday afternoon joined a majority of New York congressional Democrats, including Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, in calling for Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign in the wake of sexual harassment allegations and his handling of Covid-19 deaths at state nursing homes.

He means a Republican who has called for Cuomo's resignation. None have because they're sitting back and watching the Dems feed on themselves.

Ah, sorry. Misunderstood.

ETA: 38 member of the GOP in the NY assembly and 20 GOP members of the senate have called for Cuomo's resignation.

GOP Rep. Zeldin announces run for New York governor - POLITICO
Rep. Lee Zeldin, NY-01, the outer part of Long Island
“With one-party Democrat rule in NYC and Albany, the light that once shone as a beacon of what America can be has gone dark,” the Long Island Republican said in a Thursday morning announcement. “The New York that was once a magnet for the world’s best and brightest is now forcing its own to leave under the crushing weight of skyrocketing taxes, lost jobs, suffocating regulations, and rising crime resulting from dangerously liberal policies.”

“I’m running for Governor of NY in 2022. To save NY, #CuomosGottaGo!” Zeldin, a four-term congressman, wrote on Twitter Thursday morning. “I’ll bring the kind of relentless, fighting spirit towards helping to save our state that Cuomo reserves for multi-million dollar self-congratulatory book deals, cover-ups, abuse & self-dealing.”

Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has said he plans to seek a fourth term even as he faces an impeachment investigation, allegations from multiple women of sexual misconduct as well as accusations that his administration purposely misreported coronavirus deaths in New York nursing homes. No Republican has won a statewide race in New York since 2002.
Andrew Giuliani announces run for New York governor - POLITICO
Son of Rudy Giuliani, former NYC mayor and recently one of Trump's lawyers.
“I’m a politician out of the womb. It’s in my DNA,” Andrew Giuliani, a Republican, told The New York Post in an interview, hyping a potential general election faceoff against incumbent Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“Giuliani vs. Cuomo. Holy smokes. It’s Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier. We can sell tickets at Madison Square Garden,” he said.
Both LZ and AG are ardent Trumpies, and "a more moderate Republican challenger who could run competitively statewide has yet to emerge."
