Actually almost all of the left dislikes Obama, particularly for comments like these that neutralize opposition to the status quo by painting it as a purity test. We don't want perfection, we just don't want someone who will drop tens of thousands of bombs on innocent people and deport thousands of minorities while doing nothing to improve the lives of working class citizens.

Well, that is the problem with the left... it's perfection or they take their vote and go home.
When all that exists in practicality is a binary choice, then it is fair to say that you are either on board with one team, or the other. Not voting for one is a vote for the other.
Don't ask your Democrat friends "Are you going to vote FOR <whomever>".... ask your Democrat friends if they are going to vote against Trump or just silently approve him".
As Bill Maher said recently.. Snowflakes aren't going to vote for Trump if elderly Transgender military personnel with diabetes don't get an annual parade... so stop sounding like a batshit crazy person on the campaign trail!
