OpenAI benefiting all of humanity and its AI's morality

The term AI seems to be tossed around. There is AI and then there is AI. This isn't much more than a beefed up search engine. It is very remarkable, really, but it isn't Intelligence.

I think the basic definition of AI is or was mimicking human perception and reasoning. Machine vision and object detection is AI.

Pattern recognition.

In the 80s AI meant reducing human expertise in a field to a set of rules. In technology it has been used for a long time in software tools. Apply a large set of complex rules to a design that can not be done by a human.

Artificial Consciousness was mimicking human reasoning, a human mind.

Today AI is a marketing tool. It is used liberally in adverting.

It’s not true intelligence yet. AI doesn’t have the same limitations as humans when it comes to intelligence. As such, given enough time, data, and eventually the autonomy to learn independently, some day it will redefine our understanding of what intelligence is. At which point human intelligence may seem artificial in comparison.
