A reporter already did. Muir of GMA. Muir told him they couldn't find the police report on the roberry. Carson sputtered, "That was 30 years ago when I was a resident!" As if police records don't go back to the 1980s.

I'm not sure why he wants to defend the story anyway. Even in his telling of it he sounds like a coward and first-class asshole. He told the alleged robber to go after the cashier instead of him.
