I hope the entire examination system is managed by computers

In a strange turn of events, the admit card for the entrance examination for Diploma in Polytechnic was issued by Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) in the name of Kachir Gaaw (Brown Cow) who is supposedly daughter of Gura Dand (Red Bull).

The cow was allotted a seat at Government Degree College Bemina for writing the examination scheduled to be held on May 10.
The incident came to light after opposition National Conference spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu uploaded a copy of the admit card on social networking site twitter.com.
"The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations issued this roll-number slip to a cow after due verification. I have both the Provisional Confirmation Page for applicant Ms 'Kachir Gaw' as well as details of payment she made to BOPEE," Mattu wrote on his account.
(Education Minister) Mr. Naeem Akhtar @jkpdp has some explaining to do. New benchmark of progress in Education Sector under him - COWS getting roll no slips?" Matuu added.

The Board want to punish the prankster but I think he should be able to get away --- no false information. In space for signature there is image of the candidate's tail and hooves in space for thumb impression. Genuine photo id too.
On the other hand it should not be a problem; the cow is bound to be more intelligent than many candidates.

What's the problem? If I'm reading this right all that does is permit the cow to take the admissions test. I don't think her score will let her mooove on to actual attendance.

More interesting is why her father's name is on it.

What's the political issue?

Lemme guess - cows are entitled to human rights, ergo cows are entitled to universal education, ergo the process unfairly discriminates against cows?

That's BS. Hinduwoman's just milking the story for laughs.

My daughter took her professional engineer and structural engineer licensing test. The first time she applied to take the test the professional licensing agency here in Georgia canceled her admission ticket without notifying her.

She realized that something was wrong when her husband who was taking also taking the PE test received an instruction package that she didn't get. She called the agency and they told her that it appeared to them that two different people were trying to take the two tests using the same graduate school transcripts and engineer in training test results. To be safe they canceled both admission tickets, which had already been sent out.

My daughter had gotten married after earning her master's degree and took her husband's name. The idiots were confused by this, apparently they didn't realize that women do assume their husband's name. My daughter showed me her copy of the application. There was even a place on the application to enter her maiden name. She had even attached a notarized copy of her marriage license to the application.

Somehow the idiots issued two tickets, one to her maiden name and one for her married name, and sent them to the same address. She assumed that they issued the ticket under her maiden name by mistake and the ticket with her married name was sent out to correct the mistake.

They didn't think to call my daughter so that she could explain this concept of a woman taking her husband's name that they were seemingly unable to grasp.

They wouldn't let her take the tests, forcing her to wait another six months to take the two tests. They refused to refund her test fees of a thousand dollars because they refused to admit that they had made a mistake when it was so obvious that they had. She had to reapply and pay another thousand dollars.

Obviously the cattle in India don't have these problems.

Weren't they afraid of a lawsuit?

NASA has already sent cows to the Moon, so I don't see why this is a problem.

Apparently there is image recognition software involved--it just can't tell a cow face from a human face.

Too mundane explanation!
Obviously with Hindu nationalists in power the cows feel their time has come. So a cow with proper technical skills and education (bank account too since it deposited the application money) has applied for higher education.
Eventually cows will be in govt. Such educated cows cannot be worse than many of our elected leaders.

I hadn't thought about the religious implications.

And most cows in the US are raised for their meat or milk, not to convey souls to a higher plane.

Here cows seldom reach the age necessary to apply to college and certainly not to exhibit the maturity required for government employment.
