Protesters Interrupt Trump-Inspired 'Julius Caesar' Theater Production

Yeah, like when Trump called on his minions to assassinate Hillary, if she won the election. Or are you going to dishonestly assert that he didn't imply that, but that this play is implying that Trump should be assassinated?

When the right whines ad nauseum about how awful "political correctness" is, then wants others to be politically correct...
The hypocrisy is stunning.

Straight out the horse's bottom. You mean someone accused Trump of hinting on an assassination at an NRA conference, which he didn't say or hint about any assassination.

You can find the article in the Guardian.

WHOOSH!

No, WP, I do NOT mean that - as usual you miss the point. Trumpsuckers have been tirelessly railing against political correctness ever since Cheato gave them (you) license to do so over a year ago. Now they (you) are all butt-hurt because someone on the other side is doing stuff they (you) consider politically incorrect. Fucking useless hypocrites...

That same play has featured other presidents as Julius Caesar - where was your righteous indignation then?

He did suggest assassination of Clinton at a rally last year.

There's no doubt that Cheato has been a corrosive, corrupting influence on American morality (if that's not an oxymoron), but that's not what I was talking about.

In the movie Kingsmen, an Obama-like president had his head blown up.

And as mentioned, they've already done Obama as Caesar. They've even done Hillary Clinton.

Caesar is assassinated in all the versions, not just the Trump one.

These things happen but I think the Griffin context (and don't forget Madonna) was over the top. This is in light of ISIS atrocities etc.

The play came before Griffin, as if that overblown context should matter.

Well, he got exposed in his effort to demonize those who put on the play, so now he has to look for someone else to go after...

Not just the Guardian, most major papers in the US and western world carried the story, because all rational people understood that Trump encouraged NRA supporters to kill Hillary to stop her from taking their guns. The chuckle from the crowd confirms they got the intended implication. The only other possible implication would be he meant they should kill any judges she appointed rather than Hillary herself.

Just to confuse you, I found Labour (left) less repulsive than the Tories, but in the USA I found Trump less repulsive not better.

Do the right-wing illiterati know that there's a long history of Caesar being represented by contemporary leaders in the production of this play? Were this Obama instead would they have their knickers in a twist - or would we be hearing about machinegunning the 'sub-human mongrel'?

I think with Kathy Griffin doing an Al Qaeda, this was bad taste.
Why would that matter?
Can you explain this? Or maybe diagram it?
Someone has put on a play that has put Julius Caesar in contemporary context for years. They stabbed Obama, even while people on the right were burning Obama in effigy.
Why would they suddenly pay attention to contemporary politics but NOT put on their play in the same manner they always have?

Who cares what your addled (what's left of a) mind finds repulsive?
I find people who refuse to admit their errors... repulsive.

So, just for the record, now and for evermore the left does not believe that speech like this creates a "climate of hate" that results in people getting shot. Because I have vague recollections they used to say batshit crazy shit like that.

I've made loads of errors myself. Perhaps that makes me repulsive.

When I was single and went dating things went well until I spoke. That made me repulsive. :)

Now, now, i'm asking how he connects an ongoing play's production to Kathy Griffin's actions and why it's suddenly in poor taste for that specific connection.
Was not talking about what you're trying to shoehorn into the post you're pretending to respond to.

Yeah but dismal's right that Keith speaks for the left.

No, what makes you repulsive is how you try to villainize people for portraying a trumpish Caesar, getting called on it and, instead of admitting error, start blabbering about Kathy Griffin.
That's repulsive and slimy.

These protestors are applying the left's standards to the left to illustrate the hypocrisy of the left.

So unless the left is willing to acknowledge all their "climate of hate" rhetoric and support for disruptive protests was total bullshit the left now needs to glorify this. Or at a minimum shut the fuck up about it.

They told you that?

I don't support speech-hindering disruptive protests. Does that mean I can't call myself a leftist commie liberal no more?
