Puzder is out, the Trump administration continues to flail about aimlessly:

Andrew Puzder has withdrawn as President Donald Trump's choice for labor secretary, a dramatic decision caused by a GOP revolt that claimed the first Cabinet nominee of the new administration.

Puzder, the CEO of the company that owns the Hardee's and Carl's Jr. fast food chains, faced fierce opposition mostly from Democrats in part related to his position on labor issues as well as the fact that he employed an undocumented immigrant housekeeper.

It seems that McConnell could not guarantee that the Senate would deliver enough votes to secure the nomination.

It probably wasn't too much of an imposition on the guy to find his nomination derailed. There are probably a lot of people in the Trump administration right now who really wish they had found a way to not be part of it.

Alexander Acosta, allegedly the new nominee, doesn't seem as blatantly bad. He's a conservative, of course, but he at least has some experience at labor under the Bush administration, and comes from a legal, not business background.

It seems that getting someone who doesn't beat his wife, sell the country out to foreign powers, and isn't wildly incompetent or disinterested is the best we can hope for in the Trump administration.

Hardly a coincidence - the Pugs were all set to get him confirmed, regardless of the shitstorm surrounding him regarding treatment of workers, employing an illegal and his attitude about labor in general. But 12 hours after the media laid hands on a copy of the TV interview with his battered wife - *poof!* No mo' Putz. Very interesting what this congress will put up with.

Good. He's a thieving bastard.

Yeah, but that's not what did it. Republicans love that. It was that some Republicans might feel the need to pretend they oppose undocumented workers as much as their racist constituents do.

OR... the moderate Republicans are turning on their party, as they see the Country's interests as coming before a party "win"... It's not a fucking football game where you stick with your team no matter what.

oh. Never mind what I just said, then.

Now that is pure comedy gold right there.

Insider trading (Price), no issue.
Absolutely no experience in field (Carson), no issue.
Wife to Pyramid Scheme Billionaire who is wholly unqualified for position (DeVos), no issue.

Well, at least one guy was stopped.

Moderate Republicans? You believe those exist? Like the tooth fairy?

Yes. The Tooth Fairy is indeed a Republican. You didn't know that? What pillow have YOU been living under?

ONLY because MSM got hold of a copy of the tape of the Oprah show where his wife appeared to talk at length about him beating her. If not for that, he'd have the job.

Stupid fake news doing more of their "fact checking" and "journalism" instead of just printing the stories that the President approves of like a non-partisan and independent group of professionals would.

SAD!

Donald Trump would truly make the country grimace if he did that.

Alright enough clowning around Mr. Get back to the issues pertaining to Ol' McDonald's Animal Farm.

Considering McDonaldland was sued by PuffnStuff for copyright infringement, and won a settlement of $1,000,000 from McDonalds in the early 70's, especially for how the Mayor McCheese was a total rip-off of HR Puffin, I think this may be ironically more on topic than intended.
