How significant do you think Radio Free Europe was to the cold war?

I just checked Wikipedia and was surprised they are still broadcasting.

RFE/RL broadcasts in 28 languages to 21 countries including Armenia, Russia, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq.
