Religious comments during crisis or natural disasters that make you shake your head

I dont follow how this relates to what I wrote. You seem to be bringing up a new and unrelated point.

I probably didn't follow you either.

I am certain that you did not.

Her point about assumptions is that Christians (at least in the U.S.) tend to ASSUME that every person they speak to is also a Christian, and they don't care enough about other people to verify before spouting their Christian/religious mumbo-jumbo.

I can guarantee you there would be Christian outrage if a sizable portion of the population started saying "Al-ḥamdu lillāh" at them on a regular basis.

It is funny that Christians and Muslims cry and carry on at funerals, shouldn't it be a great big celebration of someone going on to heaven?

And have you ever found anyone celebrating cancer diagnosis? Have you heard anyone throw a party to announce that he has just heard that he has but a few months to live and then he will be enjoying the easy good life in heaven? And when they get such diagnosis funny that they are ready to spend their last dime in finding a cure - SAVE themselves from God, from Heaven! wow!

If they want to save themselves from God, just be buried in an iron chariot.

It maybe that the person deceased was a nasty cruel individual or perhaps what may seem like crying could be really tears of joy? and... erm... never mind.

Wow, even for you, that's weak ass shit.

Watch the wives and kids when a ship pull into port after a long deployment, then watch one pull out for a long deployment.
It's not terribly hard to distinguish tears of joy from tears of loss.

I don't think you read my whole post - they say they will be saved in heaven - enjoy the easy good life but suddenly when the time comes to actually go there, they fight tooth and nail to stay put? Begging the doc to help SAVE them? From God? From all that glorious heaven? The easy wonderful life that is waiting? At the end it shows Heaven is just a fantasy

I was only joking a little above, but there are several reasons why Christian belief would keep the faithful from rushing this life. One is that Christianity largely frowns on suicide.

We are told that God wants us to be "free of will" and not robots, but when Adam and Eve expressed their freedom it was the wrong choice and everything after that was a sin. Thus the need for Jesus.

Sorry about that Keith old chum. I should have included the "grin" smiley. I was quite tired when I posted that.
