I occasionally listen to AM radio, specifically Conservative radio and Religious programming. Over the last 10 years, I have heard the most ridiculous vitriol and hateful rhetoric, most of which actually makes Rush Limbaugh tame by comparison. I watched Rush on TV, when he was much less controversial, and compared to now it's amazing how far the hate has pushed these people.
It is hate speech for 10 hours a day, every day. Liberals are not people to them, plain and simple. They are elitists that think they are smart, but lack decent common sense and can defeated by folksy pseudo-wisdom easily. They are actively trying to destroy the US using any means possible. Whether it's Obama purposely letting in ebola infected immigrants in order to destabilize the nation and run a 3rd term, or Planned Parenthood working with Hillary Clinton in order to have more babies for the Satanic sacrifices they perform at Planned Parenthood clinics, or Pizzagate, or Ann Coulter books. What is going on is a taking away our (as in the left) personhood. They are dehumanizing us, making it easier for them to treat other people horribly merely because they have political differences. They are persecuted by us. We are taking away their religious freedom, their financial freedom, their right to bear arms, and everything they hold dear. Our only aim is to create a Muslim-Communist-Atheist-Satanic utopia out of the United States, a nation ordained by God to the Christians and destined to become the greatest nation on earth, so they can help little Israel fulfill biblical prophecy and usher in Jesus' second coming. We own the mainstream media, and it cannot be trusted. This is a main theme constantly running throughout every accusation, every insult, and every lie they tell. This one reason Trump was so successful. He used the same technique against Republicans that they have been using against Democrats for years. Combine this with FOX news, the GOP television propaganda machine. While not quite so extreme in their dehumanization of "libtards", this station is watched by Republicans everywhere all the time. If you live in the South, you know this. It's on in their homes. It's on everywhere there is a TV in public. Restaurants, bars, hotels, countless waiting rooms, etc. Watch FOX occasionally and you'll begin to understand that they don't just have a right leaning bent to their news, but they are a major player in creating and maintaining the living narrative the Republican party wishes to convey. It's not just telling the news from a conservative perspective, but intentionally negating newsworthy stories or creating newsworthy topics to reinforce the GOP bubble so many of their party now live in, and voluntarily help foster themselves. This is why poll after poll after study shows that FOX news viewers rank lowest in terms of knowing accurate current events. Even to the point of scoring lower than many comedy news programs. A current example: While most news in focused on Donald Trump Jr. and his meeting with a Russian lawyer proving collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, FOX news spent almost the entire day focused on Trump retrieving a hat for a marine that blew off his head near an aircraft. It was an uncomfortable, bumbling moment made to be a heroic sacrifice by the President - but it also ignored Donald Trump Jr entirely. Now, we are even to the point where GOP politicians are actually using physical violence against reporters.
Ever had a political discussion with Republican? Odds were it felt like you were talking to someone from another planet. Because you are. Fake news does exist, partisanship does exist, conspiracy does exist, but the fact is this is mostly a phenomenon from the right. We shouldn't be surprised. The Republicans are famous for their cohesion and moving in lockstep together - now to the point where they are willing to follow Trump right of a cliff. This is because they are primed to do so. They have authoritarian tendencies, minds clouded by religious and political ideology. Their churches tell them simultaneously they are sheep, and they inform them which party is the party of God, and this is reinforced each and every day by their propaganda. It's no wonder dissent is not tolerated. Free thought is discouraged. One is to submit, obey and act for the will of God and Country.
