A Mosque is a building so it is only by appearance it can make a place better or worse.
It depends on the type of person who enters there. For sure there are some occasions and places where ranting, fire and brimstone goes on, but there is no evidence this is mainstream or commonplace.

Now on the other hand some may think that the Israelis have put mosques to better use by turning them into nightclubs and brothels.

We don't care about mosques. We care about mosques built with foreign money. They aren't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, but to preach their version of Islam. The Saudi version is pretty offensive.
