SCOTUS denies Trump's plan to deny migrants from asylum if they enter illegally/ RBG just treated for lung cancer

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday refused to revive a Trump administration initiative barring migrants who enter the country illegally from seeking asylum.

The court was closely divided, with Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. joining the four-member liberal wing in turning down the administration’s request for a stay of a trial judge’s order blocking the program.

This is good news. I've been predicting for awhile that Roberts would be the swing vote on the court. He's sided with the more liberal judges twice recently. Who else has hope that Roberts will think for himself and not always side with the conservatives?

Plus as you may know Ginsberg just had two cancerous nodules removed from a lung. Although there was no evidence of metastatic involvement, based on my many years of caring for older adults, I am extremely concerned that this may be the beginning of further health issues for her. I had hoped that she would resign when Obama was president, but like many other SCOTUS justices, she wasn't ready to give up the power she has. There really needs to be term limits for these justices. The founders never thought that people would stay on the court as long as most of them do now.
