Why anyone gives two cents that any other person would make personal decisions in their life that has no effect on the welfare of others is beyond me.

Scriptural study is a waste of time; It leads wherever the student wants to go - or wherever his teachers want to lead him.

Study of reality leads inevitably to atheism. But most seem disinclined to study reality sufficiently closely to grasp this, instead preferring to waste time on woo. Which is a shame.

People are actually prepared to say, with a straight face, that they find physics boring, and that if only you would read <scripture>, you could find 'meaning' in the world. Yet another way in which religion gets things completely backwards.

Nevertheless, I have frequently heard this claim, from atheists at this very site. I am not advocating for this position, merely observing.

Though I do, as it happens, encourage people to read things for themselves before coming to conclusions about them. Ignorance makes for an ugly ideal, in my opinion.
 
She has gone quite loopy, she doesn't want to spend any time with white people, they are disgusting according to one "tweet" she put out. She's going to end up institutionalized or worse.

Ya, but if he was the only officially sanctioned pedophile in the Islamic church's hierarchy, then she's moved from an organization with thousands of pedophiles to an organization with just the one. That's progress, so good for her.

Maybe when she gets bored of being a Muslim, she can join up with the Scientologists or something. Despite all the negative stuff I've heard about the Scientologists, I've never heard of them running a pedophilia ring or anything, so she could move past the pedophiles entirely.
 
Some people apparently get off on adopting long Arabic names. Then there is the attractive misogyny in Islam. No need to deal with peaky independent women.
