I was at a gathering recently. There was a guy, in his 20s, wearing a shirt that read "Jesus loves me and my guns" on the front and "Rogue American" on the back. I think the o in rogue was a gun sight symbol. Did I mention the gathering was a little kids, B-Day party? Yeah, I'm not much a dresser myself, but I usually don't wear much in the Political category at a kid's party, though I'm not aware of any "Jesus wants me to redistribute all of your wealth and property" shirts.

Anyway, I simply wasn't going to "go there" with them, as I figured his knowledge of all things political were probably in line with that of InfoWars, so I didn't want to mess with the mood of the event.

And yes, he was married and had a kid.

Wearing a t-shirt with a message conflating guns and religion says he's looking for a fight. I'd probably leave the party and take my kid. It's a headline waiting to happen. But the real danger is what his kid is liable to do if he finds one of his dad's guns lieing around. I don't have any children and have long wondered about the challenges facing parents in today's world with all the conflicting information available. But gun-loving neighbors adds a new dimensia. And Trumpian incivility and anti-pc "authenticity" is becoming the new ethics.
