I think a lot of it is due to the echo chamber effect. Their complaints are so consistently reinforced within the environments where they interact and the media they consume that they think it's not only a legitimate position but also a mainstream position.

I imagine that they're honestly surprised both about the lack of a popular uprising throughout the country in support of their actions to force the illegitimate, foreigner-run government to concede to whatever demands they're making and about the complete lack of any kind of overwhelming military response which they could then battle off with their shotguns and hunting rifles. The one thing that their plan didn't count on (aside from the need to maybe eat something) was the reaction being a collective shrug and then people snickering at them a bit before moving onto something else. Their utter irrelevancy doesn't jibe in any way with their sense of how their cause is the most important and relevant thing in the world right now.

It is certainly much less of a problem than a bunch of idiots blocking I-95 because some thug got himself shot by the police.

It is more similar that you are willing to admit. Both are occupying places that they have no right to be in order to effect political change.
The biggest difference aside from weapons is that one occupied a place where hardly anyone is really affected while the other likes to occupy places where they block thousands of people from going about their daily business.
As a note, the occupiers indicated that they were willing to stay months, even years. To start asking for food after a couple of days looks a bit silly.

I agree it's silly. But where was a similar sentiment when 4th precinct blockaders forgot that November in Minnesota is cold and so they forgot to bring firewood and heaters. :tonguea:

Double standards and making fun of only PC-safe targets (i.e. heterosexual, white, cis-males) is hardly "function of comedy".
 
So anyway, the NFL Playoffs start soon. There is a good review of the AFC teams in the playoffs. Honestly, I don't think there is a single outstanding squad among them, so just about anyone can move on. The Patriots apparently have been exposed. Teams are starting to realize if you put Tom Brady under pressure, his performance statistics start to deflate. Despite 4 Super Bowl championships, the tarnish has worn off of the Patriots, like the #BLM movement due to a couple scandals. Also a former tight end murdered someone and is on trial for killing another.

Broncos made a daring come from behind win when Peyton Manning had to stop taking HGH on the sidelines and go onto the field (in no way did I suggest Manning uses HGHs). This kind of sucks for the Osweiller guy who led the team this far. Apparently, he was told to sit down and shut up. Regardless, Manning's record in the playoffs is about as remarkable as a bunch of militiamen holing up on some refuge, planning to stay for months, though forgetting to bring enough food.

The hottest team are the Kansas City Chiefs, who have rattled off 10 or 11 wins in a row, so they are on fire, just like that BP gas station or was it a CVS that people won't fucking stop bringing up.

You can't overlook the Steelers and their womanizing Super Bowl hero Ben Rothleisberger (the spell checker says it should be spelled Spitsbergen). Rothleisberger is great under pressure and can get out of tight situations very well, whether in the pocket or in the police station.

Apparently the Bengals and Texans are in the playoffs too, but the Bengals are perennial underachievers in the playoffs, much like that art school girl and the Texans' record was not very impressive for a Division winner.

Supposing they just sent up a predator drone and had it circle overhead while the sheriff asked again politely for these creeps to go home...then politely announced that they had a certain amount of time to go home? These people are TERRORISTS. I think there should be a place alongside the firebug ranchers in federal facilities...so perhaps he should also demand they set down their weapons before attempting egress from the building. It is curious that their leader's name is Bundy.:thinking:
 
Set up barbed wire barriers, keep paddy wagons handy and wait for them to get hungry. Maybe play lots of bad rap real loud on big stereo speakers. Or Justin Beiber songs.

PETA said the high-protein, non-animal-based products will encourage ranchers to ditch an industry that exploits both animals and the planet.

I hate PETA's hypocrisy and almost everything they stand for, but my hat goes off to them. This is Grade-A, superlative trolling. It's the wagyu steak of trolling (and self promotion).
