The Dangers of American Fascism

Trump was elected contrary to the desires of the majority of voters.

That's because you don't have a democracy. You may want to think about improving that situation (electoral college / first past the post with separated voting areas + gerrymandering).

Thanks, Captain O. Us USA'ians might never have thought of that.

Well, you're not doing anything about it.

Do you want us to get Justin Bieber on this? He can text Taylor Swift and a couple of Kardashians and have them tweet about how it's important and start some kind of movement in your country.

I love you Canucks but sometimes you seem quite naive about what goes on in the USA.

Wow. One entire state which didn't really have a problem to begin with. Way to get on it. You're doing a heck of job, Yankees.

What you mean is we don't have a simple majority win democracy.

People in their minds choose one of the major parties for the reasons you describe. You forgot to mention a press in devotion to the two parties and a press that labels any other party as outside the mainstream and irrelevant. A press that allows somebody like Nader to be excluded from the debates.

But we are humans and our culture can "evolve".

People can start to think differently and vote based on ideas and beyond simple primitive party loyalties.

If you'd had read down further in the link, it has references to many other states that have similar ballot proposals on their November ballots.

Not to mention the moving of the goalposts.

And while Michigan is far from the most gerrymandered, it's still a problem.
