The Regressive Right forces Harvard to "fire" speaker

They chose not to associate with organization they perceived as honoring someone dishonorable.

They exercised their freedom. And you're throwing a hissy fit about it.

Why do you hate freedom?

I don't see how mentioning that someone threw a hissy fit is, in itself, throwing a hissy fit. The Harvard guys wanted to play with a boy they didn't like, so they took their ball and went home.

I don't see how resigning a honorary-sounding probably-unpaid position at a University is a hissy fit either, but since you do I figured your bar was low.

It isn't one in and of itself. It's the reasons behind it which made it a hissy fit.

It's like how taking your ball and going home isn't necessarily a hissy fit. You may just be done playing and want to go home. However, if your reasons for doing that are because the other kids wanted to play with a boy you didn't like so you whined and ran off, then you just had a hissy fit.

You do understand that they didn't run off from their day job of running an intelligence agency?

You do understand why intelligence officials might not be thrilled to see people who leak intelligence honored? Or want to be associated with them?

You do understand that in their actual real paying job they tell the 1000s of people that they employ that they will send them to jail if they leak information?

Yes, and this employee got sent to jail and then released. I know they didn't run off from their jobs, they ran off from their speaking engagements.

I get that right wingers have an implicit instinct to blindly support and defend government officials no matter what they do, but that doesn't preclude an acknowledgement that they were having a hissy fit when they did those things.

You do understand that none of that has anything to do with their hissy fit?

What is it exactly that tips you off this guy is a "right winger"?

His appointment by Barack Obama? Or his endorsement of Hillary Clinton?

No, I was talking about you and your defence of him. I don't care who Mr Snowflake is.

So in this thread the trick is to fling about unfounded accusations someone is a "right winger".

Just the sort of thing I would expect from a Right Winger like you. First your hissy fit about these guys engaging in free association and now this.

You remind me of Hitler.

Well, that's just because I have a moustache and I killed a few million Jews. Other than that, the similarities are specious at best.

When some moron screams "free association" thinking people ask: What are they trying to free themselves from?

If they are merely trying to free themselves from somebody who exposed their crimes and malfeasance then no moral person should support their self serving wails.

So supporting the authoritarian state is no longer a conservative thing?

Not when said person is an Obama/HRC supporter.

When Obama authorizes a drone strike, it's a liberal strike.

Apparently.

Except when Obama killed bin Laden. That was conservatives. The liberal strikes are the ones that miss because they are taught by America-hating pacifist professors. :P

“Harvard’s actions,” Pompeo added, “implicitly tell its students that you too can be a fellow at Harvard and a felon under United States law. … I believe it is shameful for Harvard to place its stamp of approval upon her treasonous actions.”

I wonder how Pompeo feels about Robert E. Lee statues.

Or US forts named after Confederate generals.

Oh come now. Everyone knows you are on the right wing. That isn't a slur, and it isn't unfounded. Stop being a snowflake.

Right wingers like you always say stuff like that.

Is the only response you are capable of is being purposefully obtuse? What is the point you are even trying to make here? Seriously, are you just trolling?
