That teen got her abortion and the DOJ is mad that they didn't get to run the clock out. They're going after the ACLU's lawyers because they weren't fast enough about notifying the DOJ that things were able to proceed faster than originally scheduled. (She had the mandated counseling from one abortion doc but he wasn't available now so she was going to have to have the same counseling from another doc, then wait 24 hours. The first doc became available, the 24 hour delay vanished.)

One less anchor baby if you want to be morbid.

So, imagine this was a very different case not about abortion at all, would there be an argument that the ACLU was being slick and tricky just in their mechanics of outwitting the Justice Department?

But every life is precious. Do you realize that, if in 1946, Fred Christ and Mary Anne Trump had decided to..............................................................O Lord Jesus and sliced tomatoes.

The ACLU had already won the case. There also was a previous consent decree that said the government wasn't allowed to pull stunts like this in the first place.

Yeah, SO?
It's not as if this administration has any respect for the rule of law or anything y'know.

Yeah, the Republicans don't care about the law. Do what they want or else.
