Recognizing the danger and the inappropriateness of using the Insurrection Act is not the same thing as ignoring anything that happened before Trump came into power. Indeed, it's recognizing history just as we can all---even you--recognize the danger of Trump, who surely only refrained from attempting to utilize the Insurrection Act because he was told very forcefully that he would not get the necessary support.

Surely even you recognize that Trump is in ill health, physically and in the opinion of a great many people, mentally and cognitively. This is separate from whether or not any of us agree or disagree with Trump. It gives me no joy or satisfaction at all to know that he is in ill health, and has been showing some pretty obvious signs of both serious mental illness and possible drug addiction (if rumors are to be believed) and very obvious and significant increased dementia/cognitive decline. I watched Reagan, whom I despised, but although he was obviously (to me) suffering from the onset of dementia, he did not seem mentally unbalanced as Trump frequently does. Even if I agreed with the GOP platform, I would detest having that monster at the head of the party and sitting as POTUS. Which makes Biden the 'safe' choice. He's too old for sure and far more middle of the road than I or a lot of the progressives on this board are but he's the wise, safe choice. I'm certain that he recognizes his own limitations and that he has the skill and the will to build a strong cabinet and to have a strong VP so that both sides of the aisle can come together for the first time in a long time and actually work to improve our country for all of us, not just rich white people.

This was so stupid from the beginning. They ordered the shakes on an app, not in person.

The three officers from a Bronx precinct had ordered from a Shake Shack located at 200 Broadway, via a mobile app, around 7:30 p.m. last Monday. Police sources told the Post that the "order wasn't done in person," so the employees couldn't have known police had placed the order; and no one could have "dosed" the drinks when they got there, because the order was already packaged and waiting for pickup when the came in.

After sipping the milkshakes, something didn't taste right and the officers threw them out; they alerted a Shake Shack manager, who apologized and issued them vouchers for free food or drink, which they accepted, according to the Post. They also told a sergeant about it, which is apparently when everything spiraled out of control: that supervisor reportedly called in the Emergency Service Unit to set up a crime scene at the Shake Shack, while the three officers were taken to Bellevue Hospital, "where they were examined and released without ever showing symptoms."

Simultaneously, a source tells the Post that a lieutenant from The Bronx sent an email to the police unions saying the officers had “started throwing up after drinking beverages they got from shake shack on 200 Broadway”—despite the fact they did no such thing.

Well, I'm certainly glad this didn't spiral too far out of control, otherwise, the Commissioner would have been visiting the homes of these officers to offer condolences for their loss. Been even worse after they were buried alive.
