NYPD finds no wrongdoing by Shake Shack employees after officers got sick from milkshakes

(CNN)Three New York City Police Department officers have been released from the hospital after getting sick when they drank milkshakes from Shake Shack Monday night.

The shakes may have been tainted with bleach, according to a statement from the NYC Police Benevolent Association.
The NYPD launched an investigation after the officers fell ill and determined early Tuesday morning that there was no criminality by employees, according to a tweet from NYPD Detective Chief Rodney Harrison.
Investigators believe a cleaning solution used to clean the milkshake machines wasn't fully cleared and may have gotten into the officers' drinks.

This anti-protester hatred and rumor mongering is getting totally out of hand!

I have to admit, though, some of it's pretty funny:
In a Friday segment, Fox tried to suggest there was trouble brewing between protesters in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, a roughly six-block area of Seattle that demonstrators against police brutality and systemic injustice occupied last week.

The quote-unquote evidence of infighting came from a post on Reddit, supposedly written by someone within CHAZ, that read in part: “I thought we were an autonomous collective? An anarcho-syndicalist commune at the least. We should take turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week.”

The trouble is, the Reddit post was actually referencing a scene from the 1975 comedy classic “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”

Did those employees have a criminal record? Where the officers trying to gain weight or should they be losing weight? Context is important here.
 
Article linked was updated 3hrs ago with the headline "‘No Criminality’ by Shake Shack Employees After 3 Cops Sickened: NYPD". The initial statement released by the NYC PBA is telling though. It seems to indicate that the police really do assume malice and guilt before any investigation has occurred. I suppose the fact that the PBA hasn't released another statement saying they were wrong is also telling.
 
I'm shocked, SHOCKED! that Derec would use hyperbole for political purpose and make such a foul accusation.
 
How do you consume a beverage containing bleach and not notice before drinking enough to get sick?

BTW, Derec, epic fail once again. I knew I could count on you.
 
And as a quick note, of course I'm not happy people got sick.

Nope. The left wingers of Weather Underground and Black Liberation Army enjoyed murdering cops.

And of course, modern-day "Black Lives Matter" and "Women's March" have cop-killer Joanne Chesimard (who goes by fake name "Assata Shakur") as one of their idols.

And a couple of weeks ago a couple of left-wing lawyers were throwing Molotov Cocktails at police.

So this Shake attack was certainly not off-brand for the far left. I am glad it proved to be a false alarm though.

The union released an updated statement Tuesday upon learning no criminality was found, saying, "We are relieved that our brothers will be OK. We are also relieved that, based on current evidence, there was no intentional attack on New York City police officers in this case. As always, we urge you to remain vigilant at all times, both on and off duty."

The Detectives' Endowment Association also tweeted its relief in a statement.

"We want to thank all NYPD personnel who responded efficiently to this potentially disastrous situation," the statement also said. "Thank you to Shake Shack for their full and timely cooperation in the investigation. The fact remains, please stay vigilant, stay safe and always be aware of your surroundings."

Can we falsely accuse Derec of violence but still be within the rules of forum decorum? Because Derec hasn't denied putting bleach in those shakes. I'm just saying.
 
All they had to do was make the accusation. Right-wingers will be talking about "Those cops who got poisoned in New York" for months if not years, and will accuse anyone who corrects them of conspiracy to cover up the "truth".
