So it was my "weekend" yesterday and today (Wed/Thur). I ducked out to the nearest Dymocks and bought me a couple, and then proceeded to accomplish nothing all day. As it is the second last book in the Exapnse series, it is one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Most of the events in the book surpass the"big event" in Nemesis Games. I'm quite impressed with the series as a whole. The only two gripes I have about the book is:

1) I know have to wait at least two years for the next installment. Could be worse.

2)

Aversarala dying in between books. Not upset that someone over a hundred years old is now dead, but I wouldn't have minded a chapter on how so she coped with being an elder stateswoman in occupied terrirtory

So, anyone else started reading it yet? Thoughts?

Okay, just finished it:

Amos' story arc in this book was pretty disappointing. First he's presumed dead. Then he is alive. Then he got shot in the head. Then protomolecule resurrected him. Amos is my favourite character, and I suspect most people feel the same way. This kind of fake out is the kind of thing you expect on The Walking Dead and I think Amos as a character deserves better. Bobbie Draper's death was pretty good; as Naomi said it was probably on the top five on how Bobbie would want to go out. I would have been fine with Amos trying to empathize and protect Teresa whilst going out fighting, that fits into his character. Still looking forward to book nine, but the ending of Tiamat's Wrath just doesn't sit well with me. Still one hell of a ride
