Yeah, if you are put in charge (put in, I say), but the path we take in life can often be a function of our preceding ambitions and desires. If you are put in charge, then there is no preceding drive, but if there is a drive compelling your action to take charge of something of a great and worthy cause, then you'll find yourself fighting the fight that drove you. That's why we guide our young. Without guidance, there's no telling which direction they'll go. In plain English, you won't set out to do bad if doing good drives you to act.Trump 2016! Go Tom Sawyer, our Canadian friend and savior.
Ya, if you put me in charge, I'd go mad with power in about five minutes, crush humanity under my iron fist and usher in a thousand years of darkness and terror. I'd also loosen regulatory hurdles for nuclear power generation, so that would basically destroy the world too.
Trump will be great without your efforts to counteract his worldly deeds, as evidenced by a sensible cost-benefit analysis. In other words, the net benefit will far outweigh the negatives. He's not a liberal, so you might not calculate a proper weighting of the variables and arrive at the same results as a good, Republican, conservative with worthy, traditional and well respected values might.
This is where you come in. Without losing the benefits he could bring, you could tone back the 'so-called' negatives if (in his concerted efforts to take over your land) you personally took a stand.
At first brush, one might think it disadvantageous to support his presidency if greatness is the result of counteracting his works. Let me spell it out so no confusion ensues, and I'll use a grading scale for simplicities sake. The US has a grade of 63. We can thank Obama for that, as we were at 72. If Trump becomes president, we'll reach 89. (Which is 91 in conservative-speak and 44 in liberal-speak). Don't let that mislead you, as the math is tricky, but that's not the issue. We'll be better off with having him than not, yet if he comes and some of his disliked by liberal deeds were undone, the US grade could increase even more depending on just how effective you are.
Think of him as a home-builder with dirty shoes. Get him in to do the work he can do. Then, go in and clean up the dirt he left behind. Things'll be so much better after he gets in and gets the job done. You can make it better after he's done the heavy lifting.
