Sadly they brought him back.

It happens in countries that still value a certain amount of free speech. This applies to the rights of all other candidates.

The Republican nominee had to be rushed off stage by Secret Service agents during a speech in Reno, Nevada Saturday night. The candidate returned to the stage safely a few minutes later and said," nobody said it was going to be easy for us. But we will never be stopped. Never, ever be stopped."

Do you have a comment?

A man, who later identified himself to reporters as Austyn Crites, was then immediately detained and led out by a throng of police officers, Secret Service agents and SWAT officers armed with assault rifles to a side room.

A law enforcement official later told CNN no charges were filed against Crites.

After he was released from custody, Crites told reporters the incident started off when he raised a "Republicans Against Trump" sign.
Crites said he was then assaulted by a group of people around him before anyone shouted anything about a gun.

"All of a sudden, because they couldn't grab the sign, or whatever happened, bam, I get tackled by all these people who were just, like, kicking me and grabbing me in the crotch and just, just beating the crap out of me," Crites said, according to KTNV. "And somebody yells something about a gun, and so that's when things really got out of hand."

The alleged assault against Crites is just the latest such incident to occur at a Trump rally, where other protesters have previously been roughed up.

Yes, you read that right. The deplorables grabbed him in the crotch.

Surreal... I loved the picture of Twumpy Wumpy running away and ducking because someone held up a sign against him. Nice of him to treat us to a preview of how dissent will be managed should he become President. Express dissent, and you will be treated like an assassin.

Exercising ones right to free speech to express dissent is fine if it's not done in such a manner that will likely incite violence. Let me guess, there's going to be a cry in unison about all he did was ... .

Are posting drunk again? Protesting silently with a sign that says "Republicans against Trump" should incite violence among normal or civilized people.

We're neither normal nor civilized.

At a REPUBLICAN rally, no less

If you are referring to Trump supporters, I agree. Otherwise, no.
So, here's an idea: if you want to peacefully (and quietly no less) voice an opinion in a reasonable and civilized manner, then do so at Deplorables R us. The logic!
If your point is that there is significant portion of Trumpites who are violent fuckwads, then thanks for pointing out the obvious. But that in no way excuses their behavior.

They were not "incited to violence". They are violent criminals looking for any excuse to use violence against anyone that disagrees with them, which is exactly how Trump will use his office.

IF you tell me that you disagree with me, and I beat you to death, is it your fault for "inciting me to violence"?

Well, if you go looking for trouble, keep in mind that you just may find it. Thing is, these people know this, so it's a bit disingenuous to speak as if it's unexpected. There's a time and place for all things, and no one is going to berate others for speaking their mind, but there are some things you just don't do without expectation for backlash.

You want to speak ill of the dead; fine, but not at their funeral.
You want to tell a man his girls tits look nice, fine, but not in a bar when he's three sheets to the wind.
You want to voice a dissenting view against the one candidate that people look too for a chance to turn their country around, fine, but not as a douche bag amongst a highly ramped up crowd.

I would never disagree with you in a way that would provoke you. Laughing dog, however, enjoys my musings and I didn't want to let him down.

But yeah, the rowdy crowd could of turned the other cheek and didn't, but that should of been anticipated, just like police questioning should be anticipated when legally walking down the street with an assault rifle.

And we both should know he was doing more than just quietly holding a sign.

Your assumption that this fellow was looking for trouble is unwarranted. Silent dissent is part of a civilized democracy. Your apologia for this inexcusable behavior shows a disdain for civilized democracy. And it indicates the fascist mindset of the significant portion of Trump supporters. Which should scare any rational human being.

It's not unwarranted. It takes a twisted individual to engage in such insanity, but be that as it may, I have no problem with others expressing dissent. Doing so with no couth, on the other hand, is something else entirely. Oh, I am not in any way expressing approval for how he was treated, but not having the foresight to bring his own band aids is his cluelessness, not mine.

Oh, I am not in any way expressing approval for how he was treated

You've been expressing approval in every post on this thread so far.
You've repeatedly asserted that he had it coming. He "incited violence" by holding up a sign. Your reasoning is that if one holds up a sign or otherwise expresses dissent at a Trump rally, that person deserves to be attacked violently. His best course of action, according to you, was to avoid the rally, but since he didn't, he got the beating he so richly deserved.

Hmmm. I need to think about this some more. I see what you're saying, but I want to make sure you don't have that impression, so I need to clear my thoughts and regroup.

You are blaming the victim. One should not expect to be beaten in politely expressing silent dissent. This man did not deserve to be attacked even if someone could foresee the attack. To claim or imply otherwise is simply unacceptable in a civilized democracy.
