Firing Every.Single.Federal.Employee would have negligible effect on the deficit! Much of the spending takes the form of transfer payments: support for America's disabled soldiers; SocSec and Medicare for retirees; education and health-care for youngsters struggling to escape poverty; etc.

As these programs are gutted the savings will not be used to repay debt. Instead the need is to enrich the Greatest Americans with deregulations and further tax cuts. At present Elon Musk is worth only about $300,000,000,000. Can this wise genius take full advantage of his talents with only such a pittance?

In 2024 the deficit was $1.83T. If you cut $2T (somehow) and tax receipts stay the same (somehow), you reduce the debt of not quite $36T by $170B, or a bit over 0.5%.

I learned a new word! "kakistocracy" (government by the least suitable or competent citizens of a state) was used as early as 1644.

And a call to suspend the constitution will make it even more obvious that the 25th should apply. If he picks a too ambitious VP and a rogue gallery of cabinet members with no true loyalty he's ultimately at their mercy. It's not like it'd be hard to prove his mental unfitness if everyone turned on him.
 
He will be coccooned with loyalists. Anyone who dared to turn on him would be knifed by the others. He would appeal to the loyal crazies who have never recognized any of the signs of derangement that he's given off since he got into politics. Why would they grow discernment now? He would not have to do press conferences, he'd just be shouting his usual nonsense over the din of the helicopter. Really, what would a guy who already shouted, "THEY'RE EATING THE CATS AND DOGS!!" on live tv have to do, to let us know he's got brain-eating pixies gnawing on his cerebrum?

The following is just a quote from an article I just read. I read a lot of this guy yesterday, another Trumper who obviously wants to tear down the country. Plus, Trump will have to fire Wray, the FBI director who he chose during his first term and they are supposed to serve for 10 years. Will the Senate confirm Patel? Probably, because not enough of them have the balls to object to Trump's disgusting picks.

This administration is going to be a bigger mess than the last time.
Not becasue the last was any good. But becasue he is putting together people who have nothing in common and most likely hate each other. Well, hate is probably normal in all administrations.
