The hard-charging New York lawyer President Trump chose to represent him in the Russia investigation has prominent clients with ties to the Kremlin, a striking pick for a president trying to escape the persistent cloud that has trailed his administration.

Marc E. Kasowitz’s clients include Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch who is close to President Vladimir Putin and has done business with Trump’s former campaign manager. Kasowitz also represents Sberbank, Russia’s largest state-owned bank, U.S. court records show.

...

Former associates of Sberbank, the other Russia-tied Kasowitz client, also have come under scrutiny in media reports.

The bank’s former vice president, who is now chief executive of another Russian state-owned financial institution, Vnesheconombank, met with Trump’s son-in-law and adviser, Jared Kushner, in December.

Kushner’s interactions with the Russian banker are a part of the FBI’s investigation into potential coordination between Moscow and the Trump campaign team.

His whole legal team could be from Russia and include Stalin, Gorbachev, and Putin, and still some people would defend him.

Are there any US politicians who don't have ties to Russia?

Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal
As the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation. Uranium One’s chairman used his family foundation to make four donations totaling $2.35 million. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all donors. Other people with ties to the company made donations as well.

And shortly after the Russians announced their intention to acquire a majority stake in Uranium One, Mr. Clinton received $500,000 for a Moscow speech from a Russian investment bank with links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock.

Is there anything illegal in using a lawyer who represented Russians to represent another client in the USA. The investigation itself seems to have run aground and I don't think this will prove anything.

As I've been saying, can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Russian. Pretty impressive for the 12th world economy.
Economy is irrelevant, what is relevant is a number of billionaires, and Russia is 5th in that, and really close to be 3rd actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_the_number_of_billionaires
Congrats on the hoarding of wealth in Russia. We all know how vibrant an economy Russia has and the standard of living enjoyed by the average Russian Billionaire.

Minor point here:

I know that political cartoons are supposed to be artlessly on-the-nose so even drooling idiots can get what you're driving at, but did the artist really need to put the word "Media" next to what is obviously a representation of the media? It speaks to his level of confidence in the intelligence of his target audience.

You say 'any' but you only provide a tie to Clinton?
Isn't that a little too obvious, even for you?

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure it has.

Like the 3 hour tour that ran for three TV seasons?

The news may not have traveled to Yakutsk yet - but the election is over.

Is there anything illegal in using a lawyer who represented Russians to represent another client in the USA.

Not illegal but there is the potential conflict of interest that this lawyer represented the specific Russians who are named in the investigation. Moreover the fact that Trump can't even hire a lawyer who doesn't have a Russian connection really is incredible.

In much the same way that someone facing a racial discrimination lawsuit being represented by a lawyer who is an active Klan member would be. Sure it's not illegal - but it's a bit on the nose.

Pigs. All of them. It's who FFvC surrounds himself with. This should lead to repercussions from whatever state bar organizations he's a member of. But mostly state bar organizations exist to collect fees, and hassle graduates and solo practitioners. So nothing will happen and it's yet another mini-scandal that Republicans would've tried to sink Obama with.

Then of course apparent leaks of facts that tuned out to be false.
Like say....PIZZAGATE?

She was definitely NOT using a brothel as a front for selling Pizzas. My message had a flaw. I wrote tuned instead of turned out. Excuse my incontinence in using the wrong word.

There is more to come of course. The latest round should be interesting for a couple of months.
The parties may be covered in dirt because as politicians that's what they wallow in. However, the onus on the investigation is to find the correct dirt.

No shit? How can you be sure, when so many of your fellow Trumpsuckers are convinced that she was running a child slavery ring out of the pizza place?

My message had a flaw.

All your messages are deeply flawed. Maybe let us know when you post something you think to be flawless?

Excuse my incontinence in using the wrong word.

Do you know what incontinence means in English?
