Two police officers were shot near a protest outside the Ferguson Police Department on Wednesday night, according to St Louis police officials. In a press briefing just before 2 a.m. local time Thursday morning, St. Louis County police chief Jon Belmar confirmed that one officer was wounded in the shoulder, and another officer was shot in the face. Who fired the shots remains unclear. A spokesperson for the St. Louis County Police said the two officers sustained "very serious," but non-life threatening injuries.

Seeing that the shooting didn't involve all of the police getting mowed down, I think your statement about the Ferguson protestors is just an attempt to smear an entire group of people over the hateful and violent actions of one or maybe two people.

No. The damage was done by a limited number of hooligans. Not the protestors en masse. But blacks were involved in the Watts riots, so maybe we can use that historical precedence and arrest all of the protestors?

Shooting people (police or otherwise) when you are not defending against imminent and unavoidable lethal danger is wrong. This type of behavior demeans the legitimate efforts of the protestors, and plays into the hands of racists and authoritarians.

The protesters didn't do much to prevent such behavior in their midst. In fact, Michael Brown's stepfather incited violence.

Well you have no problem blaming modern-day whites for what happened in the 16th or 17th century so maybe you should. I instead prefer not to blame entire races.

Emails surface from the courts and cops in Ferguson that were overtly racist. That's just a few bad apples and not a sign of institutional racism.
