I used to have much more respect from the British. Then again, I used to have much more respect for my fellow Americans.

It seems to me the British Labour Party shares your lack of respect for the British people, and the British people responded in kind.

Very much agreed. I'd add, that as far as I'm concerned, UK has decided their path. Brexit is settled. I just hope that the people quit bitching about it. Do it. Quit whining. Allow Scotland and Ireland (countries with young people who want a better future) to leave the UK.

Scotland had an independence vote in 2014 and the Scottish people rejected leaving the UK; it isn't a question of 'allowing' them. Ironically the Scottish were 'remainers' for Europe but 'exiters' for the UK.

Corbyn announced he is stepping down by the next election.

Turnout was down, but only by a little from 2017. It is interesting, the amount of votes that labor lost altogether even in held ridings. Vote splitting on the left was more influential than swapping to the conservatives.
