• Welcome to the Internet Infidels Discussion Board.

Well, I was in the car, driving to the grocery store, and I heard Clinton's Campaign slogan ...

Making America Whole Again.

How do I find fault with this
Let me count the ways

First, is America broken and HOW?
Second, "whole again?" When was it whole the first time?
Third, Ewwwwww.
Fourth, Ugh, that was painful
Fifth, I need a drink.

We in Georgia were subjected to a week of almost non-stop presidential election ads. The only campaign slogan that I saw from Clinton was the rather insipid "Fighting for us." Does she have different slogans for different audiences?

I think she's still looking for one (I hope she's still looking for one because "Making America Whole Again" and "Fighting for Us" both stink) and she trying them out as she goes.

Hillary is nothing but a shill for big business.

She can't find a message because she has to lie about her message.

Her real message is: America for corporations and non-stop war overseas.

But I get to be president.

Her slogan is "Hillary for America"

which also sucks

and is virtually identical to "Kasich for US"

which sucks, too

She also seems to have a slogan "Fighting for us"

Seriosuly, what's her official slogan?

I don't know. To just look at her site I have to give her my email.

A typical corporatist. Charging a fee to sell me something.

You can hit the X when that email request pops up. You aren't required to enter it to view the site.

Actually you have to hit the little H in the upper left to get to the X, but thanks.

Number 3 reason to vote for Hillary is a picture of Trump and a warning "We can't afford a Republican in the White House."

After 2 dubious reasons, like being a Senator who voted to authorize the invasion of Iraq, she runs out of reasons to vote FOR her.

Number 4 is: "Our democracy should work for everyone—not just the wealthy and well-connected."

This is a joke. She is a modern day corporate politician. Like Obama and her husband.

At 10 we see her first goal.

"She’s set a big goal: More than half a billion solar panels installed across the country by the end of her first term."

Hey, that's my goal.

#3 is bogus.

Hillary likes capitalism. She likes it so much she was a member of Wal-Mart's board of directors for 6 years. If you want to know what trade deals or rule changes Hillary will support, just ask yourself "What would Sam Walton do?"

Not Sam, but those kids of his. Sam Walton had enough sense to at least look like he gave a shit about people.

Very few people, if anyone, are going to be persuaded at all. That's kind of my point. It's massively difficult to change people's minds with a political campaign, but you CAN make the people who already agree with you fired up and enthusiastic for election day.

You don't need to convince undecided voters to cast a ballot for you. You need to convince your own supporters to cast a ballot PERIOD. There are FAR more self-identified democrats and Republicans who rarely vote than there are unaffiliated voters who consistently vote. You can convince every single undecided voter in the country to support you -- assuming all the undecideds even bother to go to the polls, and that's far from a safe assumption -- and even then you could still loose the general election if your own supporters stay home.

Yes, this idea that the election depends on convincing a handful of independent voters in a few battle ground states is kind of dated. The election hinges on getting the people who agree with you to show up to vote in a handful of battle ground states. Or for the Republicans how to suppress the Democrats voter turnout.

That's why I think the Republicans, on some level, already know that chasing the swing vote is a waste of time. They have managed to achieve electoral success primarily with over-the-top rhetoric and fear-mongering that makes their base think that the Gay Married Jihadists will rape their children if the Republicans don't win. When that doesn't work, they resort to a combination of gerrymandering and suppression of democratic votes.

Republicans don't seem to care what swing voters think, which is why they are constantly trying to out-crazy each other every electoral cycle. They know that if they can get their supporters frothing at the mouth, it doesn't matter if the undecided voters recoil in horror at everything they represent.

I think that voting for most people has no utility. I think we should go to a lottery system where only say one in four adults would be able to vote. Make the vote have some value again. For some people they have to lose something before they appreciate it.

I'll go one better. I think being a politician should be like jury duty. No political donations, no campaign contributions, no campaigns even. That way when the politicians are each done with their single term they have to live with their decisions.

"I have a vagina"

That's so sexist. I do think that she has the best positions on most of the issues that I care about: foreign policy, domestic policy, and etc. But the biggest reason why I support her today: her temperament. Trump, Cruz, and Sanders are angry out of control boobs that I wouldn't trust with the nuclear football. It's as simple as that.

Why stop at one in four? You could distill it down to a single voter. Talk about one's vote having value!

I agree. She is a very sexist person to want people to vote for her solely for her gender. That has been her calling card during each debate.

I sure don't. In case you have not noticed, Bernie is right. The bankers and the special interests have ruined what was once a middle class envied by the world.

The biggest reason I don't support her is because this country has nothing in common with the middle class anymore. And she and her husband are part of the problem where we are today.

Even if I liked her (which I don't)....out of 300 million people in the US, why is it necessary to elect another Clinton anyway? There are surely other people out there who can do the job. There should be someone else qualified out there who isn't a crook.
