In another thread, and on very many places on the web, people discuss what they like about a candidate and what they don't. They discuss what they think they can "get done" and what "they'll never do."

I wanted to explore and contrast specifically the negative end of this: what action a candidate has said they will do, and that you think they might accomplish, that makes you say NO WAY! Or even campaign to stop that thing.

Genesis comments from the other thread leading to this thought:

Ted Cruz is vowing to get rid of the Iran deal, shut down Planned Parenthood, put as much of his religion as possible into the government, and every other stereotypical wacky thing a Republican wants to do. He'd put Pat Robertson on the Supreme Court if he could.

So how is Hillary worse than that?

My scale? How likely are they to kill poor brown foreign kids.

Of course I don't expect anything good from any of them in areas such as civil policy or economic policy. Yes, Cruz is pretty bad on civil liberties. Hillary's no princess though, given her position on the NSA being able to exercise unconstitutional wartime spying powers on US citizens. Just check their position on Snowden.

And on facebook I was hearing from a man who said Clinton's "Corruption" was enough to make him vote Trump. I asked, "what corruption? What, specifically are you afraid she will accomplish that you want to avoid at all costs?" He had no answer. But I'm sure some people do. So what is it?

So, yeah. I'm interested in lists from people. Candidate name and list of things you want to prevent from happening.

Clinton
Cruz
Kasich
Rubio
Sanders
Trump

Proven GOP economic imcompetence.
Trump's stated ideas have been analyzed and would give us trillion dollard deficits. Cruz is almost as bad. Ditto Rubio.
Religious fanaticism of Cruz.
Climate denial.
General intellectual incompetence.

The probability that the next president will be appointing some new supreme court justices in their terms. We don't need more far right sunsuvbitches on the SC.

If Trump wins (which I think unlikely) it'll be Idiocracy 500 years early.

Cruz, OTOH, is likely to do his best to bring on the Apocalypse.

What is frightening is the status quo.

The rich getting richer. Opportunity shrinking. Social Services being degraded. Infrastructure rotting. Endless war overseas.

The reason we hear so few plans from the Republicans is because things are working exactly as the super rich desire. Record profits. Low wages. Low taxes on the rich.

To stay the present course is what is frightening.

Not to derail but these idiots if elected will have the consent of the governed. So don't blame them, they're just products of the times. Sad but true.

I'm afraid of Trump having access to nuclear weapons. He seems like somebody that might use them without thinking about, or caring about, the consequences.

Either Cruz or Trump would be disastrous for reasons already discussed. But what's promising is that if the Democrats, whether it be Hillary or Bernie win, then it'll be a huge blow to the Republican party. I won't say it'll kill the GOP because over the years I've seen premature pronouncements of the death of both major parties several times. But it will force them to change to a more moderate place.

OTOH, if any Republican wins the White House then there is no reason for the GOP to change anything and that's bad. Plus they'll appoint at least two SCOTUS justices. And really, barring Trump giving an order that forces a military coup or pushing the button and nuking some country in the midst of a temper tantrum, or actually starting the trade wars he's promised, or... Fuck.

Okay, domestically, a 6-3 conservative majority on the SC fucks us all and our kids and their kids too.
