Who'd Satan kill?

I thought someone would never ask! Satan only killed 10 people: the seven sons and three daughters of Job. And he only did this because god allowed it as part of a bet!. Technically the blood is on god's hands for these as well. Just as well god doesn't exist, because he's a vicious, malignant bastard.

OK, you're correct. Satan told God that he should strike Job down but then God told Satan to go out and do all the dirty work. In that case, however, Satan killed more than ten people because all the servants who got smashed by the rain of fire were killed by Satan too.

less passion; more compassion
And, in those days, they stayed dead; none of this mamby-pamby heaven bs. But God gave Job brand news wives (and/or handmaidens), kids, servants and cattle, so that's okay.
Those people didn't matter, any more than the children of Ishmael, the people who were minding their own business in lands the Israelites wanted, or the flood victims.
You're counting all wrong. Only the Chosen patriarchs mattered.

Didn't Satan kill Adam, too?
"On the Day you eat of the fruit, you shall (later addition: Spiritually) die."
He talked Woman into getting Adam to eat the fruit, and ON THAT DAY he (spiritually) died.

But Adam and Eve are the ones who actually did it. You can't blame Satan for the deaths in Job when God gave the order to kill them but then also blame Satan for the deaths in Genesis because he's the one who talked them into it. Either the guy who took the action is to blame or the guy who instigated him taking the action is to blame.

Why 'either?' In our court system, the hit man who pulled the trigger AND the guy that hired the hit man both get nailed for the death.

The Genesis jury would certainly find that Satan acted upon his own initiative and instigated two minors to go out and get themselves (spiritually) deaded.
While with Job, God should at least be guilty of conspiracy to commit a murder.

And with omniscience, he's clearly guilty of knowledge well before the fact of each death, and with omnipotence, his non-action in the face of every death would make it negligent manslaughter at best.

But this thread is about who did the actual killing, not who was involved in a conspiracy. From that point of view, Satan killed zero people in Genesis and God killed zero people in Job.

Also, the god in the Old Testament is about as far away from omniscient as a deity can be.

Yeah, but i was responding to your post, where you used 'blame' four times.
If we're talking 'blame,' then people who stand by and don't stop the killing are just as guilty as the guy with blood on his hands.

No, the people with blood on their hands are more guilty because they actually killed somebody as opposed to watching somebody else kill somebody.

No.

"On the Day you eat of the fruit, you shall (later addition: Spiritually) die."

That's the serpent talking. Some say the serpent was Satan, but---since the serpent was more cunning than created things---some say it was Jehovah himself. Regardless, the plan of an omniscient god was being played out. There is no sense in which the players can have more responsibility than the playwright.

He talked Woman into getting Adam to eat the fruit, and ON THAT DAY he (spiritually) died.

Even if we assume that Jehovah was talking about spiritual death, and even if we assume that spiritual death is a thing, a coherent concept, there is still the question of who did the killing. That has to be Jehovah. Satan had no power to invent the concept of sin, or to decide what acts were sinful, or to determine that spiritual death was the proper sentence for those convicted of sin, or to execute that sentence.

Also, the god in the Old Testament is about as far away from omniscient as a deity can be.

When you play hide-and-seek with toddlers, you have to pretend not to know where they are. "But the Lord God called to the man, 'Where are you?'”

Also, I'm sure most of us reading this already know this but, it is a fairly recent fad to associate the serpent in Genesis with Satan. The Books really give no indication these two characters are the same except that the Serpent lies to Adam and Eve and Satan is regarded as having deception as a character trait. Also Satan is called a dragon and a serpent a few times in Revelations. That's really the only correlation.

Jehovah lies. The serpent tells the truth.

The all time record has to be the mass genocidal killing of all humans in the flood except for Noah and family.

And yes unequivocally, 'God-Did-It'.
