Well, after yesterday, Il Douchebag had to let someone go.

I think it's safe to say, if he let Mueller go, with the Dynamic Due of Ryan/McConnell in charge of Capitol Hill, there will be no repercussions.

Later,
ElectEngr

I dunno, EE. If they sense that the good ship SS Trump is goin' down, they're likely to bail like the rats they are.

Are you kidding me? They have shown almost no spine at all. Trump is threatening a Chinese Trade War... and not a peep out of those cowards.

Ah, but bloviating about trade wars is not an impeachable offense. It doesn't threaten their re-electability. Colluding with a traitor, OTOH... just might be a matter of concern to their constituents. So it's possible that they could turn tail and run. Assuming of course that they can credibly contend after the fact that they never suspected that the corruption and treason ran so deep.

I think Rosenstein's days are numbered. The Fox talking heads are calling for him to go. Anybody got money on tomorrow?

Former CIA Director John Brennan is on board with the whole kakistocracy thing:

Your kakistocracy is collapsing after its lamentable journey. As the greatest Nation history has known, we have the opportunity to emerge from this nightmare stronger & more committed to ensuring a better life for all Americans, including those you have so tragically deceived.

It looks like Ronny Jackson isn't going to be appointed head of the VA.

David Parkman brings up an important point. Ronny Jackson should not become leader of the VA because he's not qualified. If not for these allegations about drinking, shady prescriptions, etc., Jackson probably would have been approved, and that's a problem.

His lack of relevant experience should have been the thing that made his appointment impossible. Instead it was more salacious matters. Don't get me wrong, the allegations are serious and should be taken seriously, but his lack of qualifications should have been the number one priority, and yet this Republican congress seems bent on approving one unqualified candidate after another.

Well, they are stuck in a hard place.
Trump promised to 'drain the swamp,' so his fans are going to be pleased that his appointees have no experience, that they're not tainted by association with the Deep State. So if they disapprove someone based merely on "He doesn't have the credentials," they'll be considered traitors by the Deep Trumpers. Luckily, Trump's people know shit about vetting, and keep offering up people who have baggage. They can exploit the baggage, or better yet, depend on the Dems to expose the baggage, then it's not a matter of the Establishment just propping up more Established Minions.

Heh.
Just had a thought.

The republicans blocked Obama's last candidate for the Supreme Court based on a tradition they invented, saying Presidents within a year of being replaced should leave that for the next guy.

Can we invent a tradition that you don't appoint agency heads if you're within a year of being impeached?

My wife asks, 'we can't predict the future, though. So how would that work?"

Oh, it couldn’t work at all.

But I’d LOVE to see the Monday Morning shitfit Trump tweets after every one of his appointments and candidates is asked, “Now, how does your appointment impact the Lame Duck Amendment (Or Cooking Goose Agreement?) (Walls-Closing-In-Mandate?) (Fork-Sticking Finding?) (or whatever)?”

Every name that’s put forth, Sanders is reminded that Trump faces at least the possibility of impeachment, so why is he offering a candidate?

See if we can get the Orange Clown to punch a thumb through his phone when he hits CAP LOCK....

Yup. Betsy DeVos and Ben Carson are Secretaries, so you have to have something pretty bad to prevent yourself from becoming a rubber stamped Secretary. Jackson seemed to rise to the occasion. Can we get another doctor to inspect the Trump now?

Black guy trying to be funny on MSNBC... wasn't funny, except for one quip to the effect "Ronnie? Nobody named Ronnie should ever head up a huge federal agency. Ronnie is, like, the bass player in your band."

This could be interesting:

According to “sources inside the White House and close to the administration,” CBS reported that Sanders “has told friends that she plans to leave the administration at the end of the year.”

I was skeptical, but then I read Hukster-Sanders tweet in response:

Does @CBSNews know something I don’t about my plans and my future? I was at my daughter’s year-end Kindergarten event and they ran a story about my “plans to leave the WH” without even talking to me. I love my job and am honored to work for @POTUS

Yep, she's leaving. All that was missing was "President Trump has my complete support"

Usually, a West Wing job could be a huge career boost. I'm not sure that anyone would want to admit to working in the Trump White House.

I would think there'd be a YUUUGE pool of applicants who want the job just to they could quit and tell future employer prospects "I quit the Trump White House after three days because it was so corrupt".
