Why no Chatroom(s) here?

Why doesn't this website have at least one chatroom going, 24-7?

Or maybe 2 or 3 or 4 chatrooms with designated topics:

A politics chatroom, a philosophy/religion chatroom (or separate philosophy and religion rooms), etc.

If too many participants join at one time, and it gets crowded, couldn't there be a dividing up into 2 or 3 separate rooms, with maximum number each? Whatever.

Is there any good chatroom website now? The best I can find is wireclub.com

The board, in it's many iterations, has had chat rooms from time to time in the past. It had a small group of usuals that hung out form timer to time, but never really took off as I recall. Of course, I wasn't very active myself, so I could be mistaken.

We had a chatroom? I don't remember that. I can't see much need for that these days, not with our qty of posts.

I remember checking out a chatroom back in the AOL days in the mid nineties to see what all the hoopla was about. What a mess. It was like 20 radios being played at once, all tuned to a different station. About one in every 10 responses was "Are there any babes in here?". I just couldn't imagine how anyone could stand it for more than about 5 seconds.

It should be easy to start a chatroom at some IRC server or whatever and then invite us to join. One will have to propose some meeting times, otherwise, we won't show up at the same time and we'll be all alone when we are present.

I think that the best place to discuss meeting times would be in The Lounge.

Well, if anyone wants to start an IIDB Telegram group, I'd be down?

I'd Just Say No to WhatsApp.

It really depends on the platform, for me.

I'm not familiar with WhatsApp. But I'm a user of Telegram and Skype, and I've used IRC for a long time. So I'm no stranger to chatrooms.

I have Telegram, I would be fine with that, at least it would be a counter to all the bullshit on Telegram. Discord would be fine too, especially if you want more functionality for different things.
