An American Bombing
7/10
This is a documentary about the OKC bombing and the people and events leading up to it. What struck me most about it is that McVey and Co's radical right wing bullshit has now become the norm for the most influential subgroup within the GOP (as the film all but...
Meh. It's like aliens. They aren't doing anything for us. They're not interacting with us. No one can produce convincing evidence they're here. So even if they are here, it's as if they aren't, so they may as well not be here anyway. Just like aliens, Jebus could show up today and let the world...
Ah, so the Trumpites have a new hero who is being persecuted by the communist regime currently running the country. That tubby little bitch-boy who murdered two people in Wisconsin is going to have some competition for moron-support.
I wonder how long it'll take the courageous and patriotic...
Aw, of course!
BTW, I don't know if you know any real life professional chefs. My former brother in law was one and at the time he worked for some resort or another in Newport Beach, CA. He spoke of his boss like a god. It's purely anecdotal and my single experience with that world, so take it...
The Revenant

I rewatched this at around 3 this the morning because I couldn't sleep. I barely remembered any of it, so it was almost like watching it for the first time.
Solid flick, but I was taken out of it from time to time due to the fact that Dicapprio's character doesn't die...
It's a dark satire. It's not supposed to a film where turning people into human s'mores is a realistic possibility.
As for the rest of the movie, while it specifically deals with fine cuisine I found it to be a general metaphor for celebrity worship. In this case the insufferable...
Yeah, I don't get it.
And it's not really just about Hamas/Palestine. It's about the Arab nations doing everything they can to wipe the Israelis from the face of the earth for the past 76 years. If any nation can be justified in "overreacting" it's Israel.
My youngest daughter brought this...
Really solid flick. I wouldn't say it's great, but it is very good.
I highly recommend it to anyone.
Sycophants, hypocrites, and narcissists all being observed by a rational third party in unique setting is lots of fun.
It was unprecedented. Their platform was Trump and therein contain all the vague notions about things and people they don't like.
75 million people voted for that shitgibbon in 2020. The crazy thing is that maybe 1% of those people stood to benefit from it. In most cases it was a vote for self...
Hypocrisy, unfounded paranoia, and bad fiction.
Huh. This is new... I'll pick just one.
"I'm not just voting for the person, I'm voting for the platform."
The first part of the sentence is a lie. They're absolutely voting for that sack of shit because he's a sack of shit. They may not...
I thought about Greg Stillson from The Dead Zone. In the beginning of the book he's a traveling salesman for a Bible printing business who eventually bullshits his way to would-be POTUS. If I read that in a book by an author pre-Trump I would've thought it a naked ripoff of Stephen King's work...
Trump as a greasy bible salesman?
It fits too perfectly. If a political fiction writer would've come up with this shit in 2014 no one would take it seriously. Yet here we are.
I think this is the week I've officially and truly tired of the outrage machine. I saw something earlier today about how some psycho Trumpite is rage tweeting about how a hostess saying "Welcome in" as a greeting at a restaurant was woke (and insulting).
So I'm just not going to pay attention...

I'll never learn my lesson. I'm a sucker for a good horror movie and the line on my heart monitor will probably go flat as I die watching some non-horrific mediocrity.
I'd read good things about this one though, so it seemed promising even though Eli Roth directed it. Eli...
