What should Biden do in the next two months?

The present Administration will be in power until Noon, 20 January 2025. The incoming Trumpists are displaying their contempt for the country and the rule of law; things will become bleak. What can Biden and other supporters of democracy and justice do to salvage what they can in their two months remaining?

I hope people will come up with good ideas. I'll start with a few thoughts of my own. In some cases these will seem to play into Trumpist hands. ("See? The Ds are just as evil as we've always said.") But I don't think that matters. The Rs are too far-gone down the rabbit-hole of ignorance; and I expect the transgressions of Trump and his cabal to be so severe that a few actions by Biden will almost pass unnoticed. In many cases these executive actions may seem to exceed Presidential authority but ... So what? If now is not the time to play hardball, when is?

Biden can ship huge amounts of munitions and other help to Ukraine, and to Ukraine-allied countries in what remains of NATO. Emergency aid might be also directed to other allies (South Korea? Taiwan?) likely to be abandoned by Trump.

Biden could offer amnesty and unconditional pardons to all undocumented immigrants. Pardons would also be granted to all fed employees who carry out Biden's executive orders.

In collusion with some private organization, Biden could offer a good severance package for important people at DoJ and the Intelligence community who are soon to be fired by the Trumpists. It might be possible to set up new private companies to pursue some of the environmental, intelligence, and prosecution tasks that will disappear under Trump. U.S. expertise in drug development -- which RFK Jr. is committed to destroy -- might be given to a private company or a foreign country.

These examples are extreme, and I'm not qualified to espouse them. But what are the smart ideas of how Biden should spend his last two months?

Declassify documents that do not compromise national security but provide valuable information to the public, helping to counteract revisionist nonsense. Perhaps any compromising material they might have on Trump appointees and members of his make believe DOGE department. I know they've been spying on all of us. Snowden told me so.

There are lots of things he could do, but he won't. The Democrats are bantamweight boxers playing by the rules while Republicans are gorillas with lead pipes. Rather than getting their own lead pipes and gorillas, the Dems are complaining to a referee whose lying dead in the middle of the ring.

I think Biden should constantly say that "there is no need to bug the White House." He should say that a lot. Mention microphones, tiny cameras, sensors... all of it... "completely unnecessary" to "plant through out the White House", "including and especially the Oval Office and the Presidential Bedroom". "I mean, I feel foolish even bringing it up. *headshake* Yeah, we are completely not bugging anything in the White House."

The Democratic party lost 2 of the last 3 elections to him. So if they can manage to lose to what is unquestionably the dumbest of dumbfuck stooges to ever occupy the Oval Office, then what does it say about the Democratic party?

If being a losing bunch of flaccid pearl-clutching crybabies who have lost the Supreme Court for decades, and that ignores the overwhelmingly largest demographics constitutes what America is supposed to stand for, then I suppose Democrats are champions of American values and institutions.

I hate to say it but the Democrats failed to understand what American values are. It turns out their values are more aligned with the teaparty position. And Americans as a whole get to decide what American values are not a small cliche.

Trump and his conservative backers great and small are tired of a perceived "do nothing congress" that is now going to be controlled by Republicans scared shitless of being primaried.

i guarantee Trump is going to find a way to neutralize the supreme court or lesser courts and/or cow them. That is another archenemy of MAGA whose liberal ruling in the past really pissed them off. They will try to fix it where only people like them are on all the courts or figure out a way to dispose of them as a power center.

I hate to say it but everyone is only providing just so stories that are only speculation that already confirm their biases.

We are all supposed to be on the same team and the Democrats have been bragging about how this will be a peaceful transfer of power. The best Biden can and should do at this point is just to help make sure Trump stays alive for his inauguration that a majority of the people have spoken for. In your eyes, yes the people were nuts to elect the man. But more partisan selfishness is the last thing this country needs at this point and if Democrats really prefer a peaceful transition they should be doing what it takes to make sure that happens. For a short period of time, Biden is still in control of the secret service and other arms of the deep state.

It is not President Biden's responsibility to keep Trump alive. That is a responsibility of Trump himself, his doctors, and the Secret Service.
Nothing has indicated that the Democrats are doing anything to prevent a peaceful transfer of power. That was Trump's schtick in 2020.

What is Biden waiting for? He & Kamala should be interviewing 'alternate' electors, phoning the swing states' secys. of state with 'wish lists',
hiring Rudy Giuliani to launch lawsuits (paying him this time; believe me, he'll do it), and inviting the various woke militias (The New Haven Dulcimer Kommandos et al.) to meet up at the Ellipse in about six weeks.

Congress would need to pass legislation. The President can issue an executive order directing the executive branch to deprioritize marijuana prosecutions.
