Who did it better?

Roland Gift, the FYC singer, had quite a unique voice that both my wife and I liked a lot.

I would say both of them are differant enough to hold up so I cannot really say one is better than the other. If I was looking for 70's punk, the Buzzcocks would definitely be on that list. If I was looking for 80's new wave the Cannibals would be on that list.

Pretty much how I feel about it but the Buzzcocks was the better known version and was huge at the time and always gets me going. I was into these bands back in the day, Magazine, Killing Joke etc. FYC version was for a movie I believe but as you say, Roland Gift’s voice is so distinct and unique he does a fantastic job and puts his stamp on an iconic song.

Kiss

Prince (RIP) and The Revolution v Tom Jones and Art of Noise

I like both versions except when Prince goes screeching the lyrics at times. Tom's voice is very good but the video is pretty naff.

Prince for the win!
