Columbia University is colluding with the far-right in its attack on students

Both sides have committed shameful atrocities and will continue to do so, with no end in sight. It's hard to find an innocent party. A win would be for at least one side to begin behaving with basic human decency. That seems very unlikely to ever happen.

Another step towards answering the question of life's origins - science

I saw this on my Edge front page regarding new ideas and work about the start of life on Earth https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/how-did-life-on-earth-begin-cracks-may-have-been-the-key/ar-BB1lHDLY?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=a0f8c4606c9c44ee8d0199189b04c832&ei=8

This omni-everything God really is impossible, a theologians' creation, and should be removed from the discussion. Can we all agree that a small ball, very limited God is the only type worth discussing?

I thought Jesus only stuck around for forty days after his supposed Resurrection. So how could he make any decisions about choices made by his followers decades later? Acts 1:3?

You place your bets, and take your chances. OTOH, the people in hell might be better company than the ones is heaven. :)

If you die and still exist - that is not a sure thing. Most atheists, and some theists, would assert that your existence will cease when you die.

The term used in courts for 'proof' is 'beyond reasonable doubt'. Even eye witnesses are notoriously prone to false or inaccurate memories. What that means in terms of religion and belief in Gods is not clear. Many people believe many different things when it comes to God(s), even people in...

Were we to accept your ideas that some things that happen are not nature on its own. doesn't that also open the door to living in a simulation, or a whole world deities and semi-deities, or space aliens? How do we know which 'God', or what this 'God' is? You open the door to chaos. a universe...

The KJ Bible indeed was translated as part of a political agenda, although as you say not the Tudor political agenda of Henry 8th, but as part of Catholic King James' efforts to pacify Puritans...

The evidence suggests clearly that life DID arise spontaneously on Earth. Perhaps seeded from comets, et al, Because that is the nature of organic chemistry. And perhaps did so so many times before in prior universes.

They most certainly do not all believe in the same thing. They have myriad different beliefs, and have fought many wars and argued incessantly with each other over their differences in belief.

Many famous, very smart, and highly respected people in human history have been on one side or the other. Based on what they see as evidence and logic. That proves nothing. We can reject or accept the logic and evidence they base their ideas on. Only we can decide what to us is valid...

If we grant that it is intelligent design, then the existence of this missing in action creator is much harder to explain than the original question about the existence of everything else.

I have seen sources that claim primitive life may have come to Earth and been wiped out more than once during the Hadean Eon. Speculation, of course.

The salient questions would be at what point in time did day and night exist on the proto-Earth and at what point did life first appear on the proto-Earth. I don't have a clue or a source. Do you?

The most credible information I can find suggest that the sun is 4.6 billion years old and the Earth is 4.5 billion years old.

The Earth's water is indeed older than the sun, but I find no creditable sources that suggest that the Earth formed before the sun.

Not disputing that protons and neutrons have changed form, but the quarks of which they are composed have not. Neutrons change form every 15 minutes or so. That's their half life, when not in a nucleus. When ancient suns exploded, it was hot enough to break nuclear bonds. Most estimates...
