AUSTIN, TX -- Weeks after the tragic massacre at an elementary school, sales in the AR-15, a weapon used in both the latest mass killings in Oklahoma and Texas, have gone up notable. When asked why they were purchasing the weapon, people noted that the AR-15 provided the best defense at home from a "a mob of completely unarmed people".
In purchasing an AR-15, not only would the person be protecting their home from an unarmed mob of people surrounding their home, but it'd also protect them from unarmed agents of the Federal Government.
Self-protection is an often used reason for purchasing the AR-15 which allows the shooter to have limited training and skill to be able to use it quasi-effectively against people. Many purchasing AR-15s indicated they were sorry that the children died in the school shooting, however, it wasn't law abiding citizens that purchased the weapon and killed the children, well at least after he killed them.
"No law abiding gun owner has ever murdered people," stated Gruff McKillins, a gun store owner in El Paso, Texas.
Gun rights advocates have also noted that Red Flag laws would limit the legitimate purchasing of guns to people who could need it for protection from unarmed Government Agents trying to send them to a FEMA camp or mobs of unarmed people.
"It is a slippery slope," noted Cain McAbel of Dallas, Texas. "Look at Waco or Ruby Ridge. The Government would never have gotten away with either of those if the people were armed to the teeth.
"With this weapon, unarmed Federal agents won't be able to do anything illegal against me. I am protected from tyranny."
