That tru-xtian love got another innocent teen dead.....and then they decide to be all "inclusive", even though their hideous bible told them it was OK to hate. Now, somehow, they can just ignore that bit and pretend to be decent human beings. Xtianity is truly disgusting and dangerous...

A 14-year-old lesbian from England killed herself because she didn’t feel she could legitimately be a gay Christian. Now her church is doing everything it can — short of violating the law — to make sure it does nothappen again.
Lizzie Lowe died of suicide four years ago when she didn’t feel welcomed by Church of St James, Didsbury in Manchester. Now, after processing their own role in her death, the church and a related institution have focused on living out their idea of “inclusion.”

They realize, and admit, they contributed to a needless death.
They decided they don't want to do that again, as opposed to putting a victory tombstone on the church van.
Faced with change or entrenchment, with doubling down on the hate, they went with change.
And change in a positive direction.

What, exactly, upsets you about this?

That it happened in the first place.

And that xtians claim the evil bible gave them the directive to hate gays, and then they suddenly can choose to ignore it to make themselves feel better.

The leaders of that church should be facing charges...instead, they're publicly masturbating over how nice they are.

That it happened in the first place.
Yes, tragic, I get that. But these people actually noticed and did not exult in the tragedy. Seems a little less disgusting, to me.
Her death, while needless, was not without some redemption.

I think you're projecting just a teensy bit, there.
They're not ignoring it, but they seem to be adopting a more liberal interpretation.

Almost sounds like you would prefer that they stuck to their guns...
The leaders of that church should be facing charges...
What would you charge them with, then?
instead, they're publicly masturbating over how nice they are.
This is why we can't hate nice things.

There was no redemption for Lizzie. Xtianity killed her.
Actually, it looks more like an excess of genteel behavior killed her.
Sex was something they just didn't talk about at that church.

Seems to me that the headline is overly dramatic.
