Well, you know all those things you hear from conservatives...against big government regulations, against cancelling people, for free speech, against bureaucratic red tape, and above all be honest and moral...you and I know it's all a bunch of bullshit. In this case, congress critters are allowed to attend charity events when invited by a non-profit which is what happened so the Good American Conservatives for Ethics in America (tm) decided to lie by claiming the invite is de facto from for-profit corporations because some fund some of the event, like with almost all charity events. How ethical! The real issue is that she showed up to a fundraiser with Tax the Rich on her dress, directly confronting the very elites at the event. Conservatives can't have that so they have to make her de facto one of the celebrity elites. Divide and conquer. And of course idiots believe this propaganda like this guy's comment "she is a CROOK plane and simple." The stupid. It burns.

(What Biden implied is that inconveniences like forced evacuations and crowded shelters would be riskier for the unvaccinated. Maybe RKOT is a "satire" site, but millions of Americans will believe the headline.)

Biden got the US out of the endless stupidity in Afghanistan.

That is a great thing.

But ultimately Biden was merely the lesser evil to an incompetent con man that deliberately lied about the dangers of COVID and because he lost the election incited a riot, launched 60 frivolous lawsuits, and has lied about the results for almost a year.

That is a great thing.

But ultimately Biden was merely the lesser evil to an incompetent con man that deliberately lied about the dangers of COVID and because he lost the election incited a riot, launched 60 frivolous lawsuits, and has lied about the results for almost a year.

I don't think there is anything evil about Biden. He's an imperfect human, just like the rest of us. He's made mistakes, just like the rest of us. But, unlike Trump and the Republicans, he wants to do what's best for the country and he has said that he will support the progressives legislation, if they are able to muster up the support for it. The problem isn't Biden. The problem is that the Democrats are only holding power by an extremely thin margin, so it only takes one or two dissenting views to prohibit anything from being passed into law.

The other problem is that too many Democrats won't compromise. Like it or not, we live in a centrist country, and I don't know what it might take to change that. The other problem is that unlike the Republicans, the Democrats eat their own instead of trying to come up with bills that will get the approval of the number needed to pass legislation. Unless the Democrats can increase their majority in the midterms, which I sadly think is highly unlikely, not much will happen that will please most Democrats.

As far as AOC's dress goes, I thought it was a tacky display. The rich do pay taxes. Sure, they should pay more taxes, but I thought it was a bit weird that a woman would attend an event full of wealthy people, while wearing an expensive dress with a message like that. Where was the dress made? Was it made by some underpaid American worker or some abused over worked woman in a poor country that exploits its workers even worse than they are exploited in the. US? Or was it designed and made by some wealthy designer? AOC likes to get attention. Sometimes I wonder if she has narcissistic tendencies, or maybe she just hasn't matured enough to understand that one must compromise to make progress in a country like ours. She means well and most of her ideas are fine. I just don't see them as being realistic, unfortunately.

Of course she can wear whatever she wants, just like anyone else, but I personally think that wearing an expensive dress with that message was a bit counter productive. That, of course is just my opinion regarding something that I think is very trivial. But, it certainly did give her a lot of attention, didn't it? Too bad the news doesn't dwell on more important things these days.
