Reading it, I'm not sure that the subjects thought they were "expected" to cheat. I wonder if they felt obligated to perform - to show a return, to win. IOW, maybe ordinary people can correctly predict a count toss 50% of the time, but a banker must do better. And, since the rules accommodated cheating....
