If Climate change cannot be stopped i fear for Atheists, Gays and minority religious people - yes the climate change will kill a lot of people, millions will starve due to a lack of food, flooding and fires will kill millions more but then people will turn to their religions leaders asking why God is doing this to us.
Let us take a step back and understand that the dominant religions of the day are King/Master religions - born when Kings/Strongmen ruled with an iron fist - Slaves/Servants got down on their knees, shaking with fear, swore undying loyalty and begged for his mercy and protection. See their Terminology - Commandments, Submit, beg, mercy, Wrath, Fear - all Slave/Servant words
Master above all - Master must be obeyed - Fear master's wrath - why is this happening? Why is master punishing us? Well, it is because of Gays amongst us, it is because of the unbelievers and so the mass killings will start. Once these people are killed off, they will turn to killing minority religious people next as things won't change
Far too long people have remained silent over these sick ideas that religions continue to preach

That's why atheists are going to university and taking physics and engineering. If there's going to be a master/slave relationship, you want to be the guy controlling the giant deathbot and not the guy fighting the giant deathbot.

However, yes, we are probably only a major disaster or two away from losing all the social advances that we've made sling the way and if resources get scarce and people become afraid, the out group won't be a fun group to be in.

Good point Ramaraksha. There is considerable historical precedent that radical religions tend to feast on the fear brought about by conflict and natural disaster. Blaming such things on the wrath of god is a quick ticket to filling those coffers with money from folks seeking to hide from the "chastening rod" of the song "Jesus is Coming Soon."

Now that I think about it, perhaps the "rod" and the "coming soon" were completely different things I hadn't considered as a youth singing this hymn.
