Bernie Sanders on the current state of media today today

Yup. Bernie as usual hits the nail right on the head. Will the Democrats finally come around to making him or another like him their forerunner?

Yet, there are lots of articles about the Senate discussing a potential bill, and last years more extreme House bill. Bernie has a point, but not a very big one...

Who's fault is it that this 'bad media' is following the steamy scandal at a louder level than the bank deregulation ideas? Why are the Kardashian's splashed all over most everything in media world? Is it because nobody clicks on the links? The US media also generally ignores the plight of the Yemeni, while we go on and on about how the Russians and Syrians are brutalizing the Syrian citizens. Why?

Oh, yeah...and who is pushing this kind of legislation harder: (1) The Dums? or (2) The Repugs and Don the Con?

Idiots who read tabloid magazines and don't or can't or won't understand anything that SOCIALIST (bad!) Bernie says.

Exactly. People are just too obsessed with tabloids and celebrities to pay attention to what's really important in the world. The question is what can we do to get Drake to tweet about this issue and move it into the national conversation.

The Great Depression produced legislation and regulation that prevented the excesses of the financial sector from producing another financial crisis of the magnitude of the Great Depression for sixty years. Then the Republicans gained control of Congress in the 1990's and undid most of it, under the banner of deregulation. It only took ten years for the financial sector to dream up the highly leveraged, trounced sub-prime mortgage-backed securities that thanks to the benign neglect of the Bush II administration blew up and caused the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, which came close to destroying not only the economy of the US but of the world.

The Democrats gained control of Congress and passed Dodd-Frank that restored about 30% of the regulation that was needed of the financial sector.

The financial sector is inherently unstable and incapable of self-regulation. They can make a whole lot of money in an unstable market and without regulation, they are capable of destabilizing the markets. And now they can fully expect the government to bail them out, guaranteeing them not only their survival but also their full profits.

It was inevitable that the Republicans would undo the half-baked regulation of Dodd-Frank because it is exactly the opposite of what is needed. Bad ideas are what they do, it is all that they have.

Who is Drake?

Google is my friend. "Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986) is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur."

Who is Drake?

Please come up to Canada so I can have a mob beat you to death.

Drake is basically a Canadian sex symbol. I have yet to meet a woman here who doesn't swoon for the guy. His music is passable but nothing that would have been noticed if not for his good looks.

Well hopefully this Drake isn't as painful as your other export, Justin Bieber...
